Do The Wave

Do The Wave
Curling Iron
  1. Work a small amount of protective baobab serum through the ends of your hair.
  2. Using a 1-inch curling iron, curl 1-inch sections of hair away from your face.
    1. Comb through curls to soften them up.
    2. To finish, spray hair with a light holding hairspray.
TIP:
Waves not loose enough for your liking? Turn the temperature on your curling iron down! You'll achieve the look you're after AND save your hair from unnecessary heat damage.

FlatIron
  1. Use a small amount of mousse and work through wet hair. Finger dry the hair using your hands.
  2. Use a clip to section your hair into two or three sections.
  3. Starting with a 1 inch section of hair, angle your straightener vertically with the tip of the iron pointing down.
  4. Press the straightener on your hair and move the iron down slowly in a winding motion to create a soft smooth curl.
  5. The bigger the section of hair that you curl, the larger the curl will be. Remember not to close the straightener too tightly when curling to avoid pulling on the hair.
  6. Repeat these steps for all sections of hair and finish off by lightly spraying a holding hairspray.

Wand
  1. Spray a light mist of hairspray onto your hair so it will set easier.
  2. Section off a small section of hair near the front of your head. Take about a 1 inch section of hair to start curling with.
  3. Holding the wand at a downward angle, wrap the hair around the wand. Starting at the roots of your hair wrap from the base of the wand and work your way up. Hold the hair on the wand for about 10 seconds.
  4. Slide the curler out and keep the curl in your hand for another 5 seconds.
  5. Repeat curling for all other sections of your hair.
  6. After curling, use your hands to gently move the hair around to separate any curls to make it look more natural.
  7. Spray your hair with a light hairspray to set in place.

Hot Roller
  1. Heat up those hot rollers.
  2. Spritz your hair down a fine mist of hairspray.
  3. Divide the hair into three sections, one section to the left, one to the right, one down the middle.
  4. Take a small amount of hair— about one inch across—from the middle section, and wrap it around a hot roller. Begin at the base of the neck and curl upwards toward the scalp.
  5. Once you've reached the top of the head, clip the roller in place. Most sets come with clips, but they're not always the best, and often fall out. If you want, you can invest in butterfly clips (it's about a $6 "investment") which will hold the roller securely in place.
  6. Gather another section from the middle and repeat. Once they've all been rolled, repeat on both sides. Let them sit for 20 minutes.
  7. Once the rollers have cooled, unroll them gently and style with your fingers.
