Red rash |
| Question |
| I'm a 19 year old, physically active male, who has never had sex. On the underside of my penis, along the shaft itself, extends a red rash that has been present since grade school. I've done some research on my own and came to the conclusion that this redness is probably from lack of airflow to that area. In addition to the red rash (which doesnt irritate or itch) are small bumps, mainly on the lower end of the shaft. I've tried mild dusting powders, and some cremes but nothing has worked. It almost seems like the red rash (which feels normal to the touch) is just dead skin. |

| Dermatologists are experts in the evaluation and treatment of all areas of the skin including the penis. Reconsider consultation with a dermatologist as the subtle findings that you report are very difficult to categorize properly without a careful exam. Trust me - as a dermatologist I examine penises quite frequently every week. Whichever dermatologist that you choose will likely approach your case in a kind and caring manner - as a patient seeking help, not judgment. Craig A. Kraffert, MD |
