Highlighting Tips

Skillful shading and highlighting helps enhance your best features and hide your less desirable features. Understanding basic art techniques is essential. "Light" brings forward. "Dark" recedes. It is simple, but not always easy. Highlight cheekbones to make them more prominent. Use darker shades to shadow underneath the cheekbones. This also makes them more prominent.


Use these light colore products for highlights:
Immediately after applying your foundation or foundations of choice, look closely at your face to determine where you still have dark recesses. Choose your preferred highlight product. Apply the product directly to the area you wish to highlight. Press and pat the product into place. Rubbing will make the product disappear and negate your progress.

	My Favorite Eyes Cream

Use highlight to soften under the eyes in the inner corner where one might develop a loose bag or pouch in the aging process. Avoid the area directly under the outer eye, near the lower lashes that often protrudes. Light would exaggerate this.

Use highlight (Bye Bye Blues) to camouflage the blue discoloration that most get in the socket of the eye, just between the edge of the bridge of the nose and the inside corner of the eye. To widen a narrow forehead, highlight above each eyebrow.

Use highlight to brighten the crease around the outer edges of the nostrils and along the folds that run diagonally from the creases of the nostrils to the outside corners of the mouth (a.k.a. laugh lines).

Use highlight to "lift" the outer corners of the mouth if a small pocket or valley exists there
