How was Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare started? What goals did Dr. Gross have when first setting out?

As a dermatologist, Dr. Dennis Gross was naturally fascinated with the ability to improve the overall health of the skin, but the beauty aspect of it appealed to him as well. He found helping people feel better about the way they look to be very rewarding, so he developed his own line of skincare products—a synergy between health and beauty.

What innovations, ideals, or achievements set apart Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare from other brands in the skin care market?

During his years in private practice, Dr. Gross noticed that no matter what his patients tried and tested, they seemed to be extremely dissatisfied with their products and the lack of results. At the same time, the harsh glycolic peels of the 90’s were becoming more and more popular, and he was against the philosophy that those irritating peels were good for the skin. It motivated him to think outside of the box and develop the Alpha Beta® Peel, formulated to yield immediate results yet gentle enough for everyday use. We flipped our marketing message to capture online and web consumers and diversified distribution channels for enhanced market impact (for example QVC and Direct TV). We also launched a social media campaign to increase brand awareness and connect with our audience and consumers.

During his years in private practice as a dermatologist, Dr. Dennis Gross sensed his patients’ frustrations with the products out on the market that failed to produce results. At the same time, he was against the increasingly popular glycolic peels of the 90’s, and felt that they were too harsh and couldn’t be good for the skin. So he decided to formulate his own line of skincare products "based on natural ingredients and chemistry principles for keeping the skin healthy without irritating it."
