Glytone’s Unique Step Up System

The Glytone Skin Rejuvenation System was developed as one of these in-home regimens. It consists of a twice-daily cleanser, an overnight exfoliator and a moisturizer for use in the morning, which in and of itself is not necessarily an innovative or unique system. The distinctiveness of Glytone, however, is that each of its products comes in three strengths, making it extremely effective for long-term use.

The scientists at Glytone realized that for many individuals, the strength of glycolic acid in a product that will create the maximum results may increase over time. In other words, skin can become acclimated to the acids, so the products lose their effectiveness. This is why many people find that their favorite skin care products work very well at first, but after a while, they stop noticing results. Because of this situation, Glytone created their unique three-step system.

Step 1 products contain the lowest available levels of Free Acids. Glytone’s Facial Cream 1, contains a 10% Free Acid value, while the Exfoliating Lotion 1 contains a 5.5% Free Acid value. Step 2 products contain higher levels — a 15% Free Acid value for Facial Cream 2 and an 11% Free Acid value for Exfoliating Lotion 2, and Step 3 products contain the highest levels, with a 20% Free Acid value in Facial Cream 3 and a 17% Free Acid value for Exfoliating Lotion 3.

Once you feel your skin has acclimated to Step 1 products, or you feel as though you’re no longer benefiting from that step, you can move up to Step 2, and so on for Step 3.
