1. What three words would you use to describe the Oscar Blandi product line?
Upscale. Italian. Nourishing.

2. Aside from growing up in Italy with a hairstylist father, how did you get your start? What was your motivation to create a product line?
Over the years I worked to develop successful hair care lines for so many big companies. I wanted to create products that would style and treat hair at the same time. I also wanted to create a line that could help my clients style their own hair at home. That is the ultimate service a hairstylist can provide

3. Why is jasmine oil the main ingredient in so many of your products? What are its benefits?
Growing up in Italy there was always jasmine around. The fragrance would always soothe and calm me. I hand pick all of my fragrances because it is such a big part of hair care. Jasmine also offers benefits to hair so it only made sense to create a regimen where each product is infused with the essence of jasmine to help minimize frizz, maximize shine and strengthen hair.

4. What hair styles are you most known for?
My main goal when styling is to always obtain natural, beautiful looking hair. Healthy, shiny hair is also very sexy and youthful looking. It is the frame of your face so you should treat your hair the same way you treat your skin.

5. What’s the most common mistake women make when styling their hair?
Women wash their hair way too often. This depletes hair of its natural oils, overstresses hair and is a complete waste of precious time. I recommend using my Dry Shampoo on days between washing. Over a period of time this will help maintain healthier hair and prevent color from fading. It also serves as an instant volumizer.

6. What’s your favorite quick fix?

7. Any other styling tips?
I also spray my Volume Volumizing Spray, flip hair upside down and apply heat. You will instantly achieve volume and texture all throughout your hair. I would finish it off with Lacca Hairspray for hold and to lock in your volume.

8. If a woman could only keep one Oscar product in her powder room, which one should it be? Olio Di Jasmine Hair Serum. It should be a mainstay in any woman’s hair care regimen. I created this product to minimize frizz and maximize shine for all hair types. Most hair types tend to frizz from lack of moisture. If applied to ends daily it will help prevent damage and breakage to strengthen hair. It also gives a beautiful fragrance to your hair.

9. What’s an easy, but chic hairstyle for holiday parties? Tips or products you suggest to get the look?
Wearing hair up is always appropriate for formal events during the holiday season. A quick chignon can be achieved by securing hair in a ponytail at the nape of the neck, split the ponytail in half and wrap each section in opposite directions. Secure sections around the ponytail with hair pins.
