I have been a user of MaMa lotion for a while now. I am on my 3rd bottle and have no plans to switch to another lotion. With in a few days of using it I noticed my face was smoother and less oily. It... malissa m. 7/09
Apply a thin layer to clean skin every other day for first two weeks, then once per day as tolerated. Flaking is normal for first few weeks. Discontinue temporarily if irritation occurs. Avoid eyelids and lips. For external use only. ALWAYS wear a daily sunscreen when using MaMa lotion.
Because of the protective and moisturizing qualities of malic acid, this lotion takes about 10-15 minutes to fully sink into the skin.
Please Note: Application of the MaMa Lotion will always be followed by a sharp stinging sensation. There is no reason to be alarmed as long as the stinging dissipates within 30-40 seconds. The initial sting is caused by the acids entering the skin. Only prolonged stinging (more than 5 minutes) and itching signify sensitivity to the product. If needed, application of a light moisturizing cream or lotion beforehand will buffer the penetration and minimize the irritation.
Dark Skin Types: When using MaMa Lotion on dark skin it is very important to start slow and gradually increase the usage to obtain the best results. For most individuals who have never used active ingredients on the skin we recommend using MaMa Lotion no more that twice a week for the first few weeks up to one month. Gradually increase usage to every other day
