Anti-Itch
Itching is a dis comfortable sensation in the skin that can be caused by any number of stimuli. The chemical cause of an itch is known as a histamine, which binds to certain nerve receptors, causing the discomfort and reddening. The external cause may be contact with a specific chemical, such as poison ivy, or may be related to an underlying cause, such as eczema. While chronic itching is often treated internally (and should be discussed with a doctor), most short-term itching can be dealt with topically with medicated creams.
