Hydroquinone

Hydroquinone is used to lighten hyperpigmentation of the skin. Hyperpigmentation is also known as age spots, sun spots, liver spots or melasma. Hydroquinone is considered a lightening or bleaching agent, primarily used on the facial area, however can be used on other areas of the body. Hydroquinone is widely used in many skincare products because of it's efficacy and fast results. It is available in non-prescription as well as prescription forms that are administered from a physician. It is very important to use a sun protection product while using hydroquinone products. Also hydroquinone is not safe to use during pregnancy or while nursing. One should consult with a skin care professional before use of this product.
