I am now 22 and have a very bad outbreak. I'm itching in my sleep and waking up to bloody scabs. My dermatologist moved away two years after I was diagnosed. Neither the doctors office or pharmacy want to dig out my records from storage. I was given a prescription that I have been searching for for years now. It was an alcohol based liquid solution that I applied to my scalp once a day as needed. It was a white oval squeeze bottle with a purple label. Ann MillerI Answer First things first, the physician or pharmacy who administered the prescription you used shouldn't have a choice in the matter. If you request to have records found then they should recover them. Unfortunately I am not going to be a great source of information as far as determining what prescription you could have been prescribed. Because pharmacies are where these types of prescription are obtained from (usually) I don't often see such items come through on a day-to-day basis. The following ingredients are often prescribed to treat SD: ciclopiroxolamine, selenium sulfide, zinz pyrithione, coal tar, ketoconazole, flucinolone acetonide, pimecrolimus and salicylic acid. The problem you may encounter is the item you were prescribed could have gone through packaging changes or even be discontinued.
