Question

I have dry facial skin which feels okay to the touch but underneath is hurting from the excessive dryness. I also get the occasional blemish but mostly have small bumps under the pores, which do not developed into a full pimple but are noticeable to the touch. In addition, around the mouth and nose area I am prone to what I believe is eczema I have been using Cetaphil to cleanse and Phytomer Reinforce for moisture, but the skin is still dry. The red itchy patches have also begun to get worse. Need help.

I really don't want to recommend any skin treatment for you yet because I think that you probably have perioral dermatitis and need to see a dermatologist. For my patients, I insist on treatment with tetracycline 500 mg twice daily for six weeks (even if you get better sooner). All topical cortisone must be avoided on the face. After your presumed perioral dermatitis has cleared, please email again and I'll be happy to help with the next phase of beautifying your skin.
