I used it on my face but did not know that I was supposed to use something to neutralize the acid. I did wash it off with cold water but it still burned. I did this at home and it was after hours at the salon so I did not have anyone to call and did not find out about neutralizing the acid until the next day. The areas are red and were oozing but now that I neutralized it, it stopped oozing and seems to be a little better. Is the redness EVER going to go away? The skin never blistered, it just burned and looked raw. What have I done to myself?!?!? Help! Answer The redness should definitely subside, but it may take awhile. The most important thing for you to do is to wear sunscreen at all times. Sun exposure will only worsen the redness and make you more sensitive.
