White streaks

My daughter presented with a white streak running down from her buttock to her calf on the back of her left leg at about 6 months of age. Now at 14 months of age I see another line beginning in the same fashion but this time running from her chest to her tummy. It's barely visible but getting lighter each day. There is nothing on the surface of the skin, just a loss of pigment that gets lighter and lighter until it's stark white. Have you seen this before??? Thanks, Jessica Niehage

I have not heard or seen anything like this before and unfortunately issues or concerns such as this cannot be diagnosed via the Internet due to a number of reasons, one being the lack of visual. Without a proper physicians diagnosis I am unable to safely recommend treatment options. I suggest seeking consultation from a dermatologist in your local area for more information. Thank you Meagan. I took her to a dermatologist yesterday but they haven't given me a definite diagnoses yet. She mentioned hypomelanosis of ito as a possibility. Is that something you're familiar with? I am waiting for the dermatologist to consult with her colleagues and get back to me but in the mean time I'm trying to gather as much information as possible. Have you any thoughts you could share with me?
