| | Hi Dr:
I am a 28 years old Asian. I had been having acne every since I am a teenager. The worst part is when or before having my menstrual, I will get this (usually one) big acne that is yellowish in color. I tend not to mess around with it, but a lot of times, I accidently hurt it while washing my face. I have tried a lot of products but nothing helps.
Do you have any recommendations for acnes and blemishes? I haven't been to a dermatologist yet. Thank you. |

| | I am 23. I have had trouble with acne for as long as I can remember. I have tried many things and nothing really seems to work. I am an entertainer on cruise ships and it is very frustrating to have skin issues! Recently, I started a new product....BeautiCOntrol's acne line....and I thought I was starting to get my acne under control. Then I just went on a cruise to visit some friends and my face is a disaster now. Could there be some correlation between being on a cruise ship and my acne? Could I be allergic to the water or could food affect my face that quickly? I work in ships for about 6-7 months at a time and I always have an extremely hard time controlling my acne when I am on the ship. Please help! :) |

I am 31 and have recently (last 3 months) been getting major breakouts- acne. I have never had skin problems in my life! Even as a teenager I had a pimple here and there but never problems like I have now. It's my whole face breaking out with no cause. I am not sure how to treat. I have normal to dry skin, so it's not oil production. How can I cure this problem and get healthy skin again??

| | I am 30 years old and have fought acne since I was in my early teens. I have tried almost every topical acne treatment through a dermatologist finding my skin became prone to most of it. About 5 years ago I went an Accutane which worked great. I got pregnant about 3 months ago and my skin has taken a turn for the worse. Is there a product you recommend for someone trying to get pregnant or is and their skin has broken out? |

| | I am a 42 year old white women with and olive complexion. I am experiencing increasing breakouts on my face. Some are acne like (whiteheads) some are almost hive like, red itchy blotches. I have tried eliminating all cosmetics and creams, this did not work. I have eliminated chocolate, alcohol and I have now gone dairy free for two weeks. My question is, is two weeks long enough for diet elimination for dairy? I am still experiencing break outs. I am getting very frustrated. I now have more acne than my 14 year old son. Is there anything else I can try?

| | I am 26. Since I had a baby 18 moths ago my skin seems to get worse and worse. Before I`d have rare occasional breakouts,now I have breakouts all the time,as well as under-skin type ,and blackheads. I used to get compliments about my skin .
Anti-acne chemical stuff is irritant and drying to my skin and all naturals and organics are not strong enough. SOS |

| | Hi dr..I have dealt with acne as a teenage and through my early 20's. I am 27 years old. About 4 years ago my dermatologist perscribed accutane, did that for a few months..and then he prescribed a second round. After that my skin was looking good. Well I got pregnant in October 2005 and my skin started up again. Now I know that pregnancy does this to some people, so I did what my dermatologist said and hoped my skin would just get better. Well my daughter is 3 months old and I'm back to square one. I have tried dermalogica (didn't help) and just recently perchased Murad's acne treatment. It has been about 5 weeks and my skin is getting worse!! They say it can be a purging of the skin, but I can't take this. I've been breaking out on my chin and around the mouth. Somedays I think it is getting better, then the next it's flaring up again. I was going to try Jan Marini Cleanser & bioclear lotion (not sure if that's the correct names) b/c this has worked for my sister. Can you give me any suggestions about my issue?? Thank you!! |

| | I am 28 years old and have been suffering from acne through most of my 20's, when I stopped taking my birth controls pills that is when the break outs began. I have tried everything from Erythromycein prescribed by doctor, to Oil of Olay, Clinique 3 Step Skin Care, to Carol's Daughter, Neutrigena, Noxzema, Clearasil and nothing works. They either break my face out even more, doesn't clear up the pimples and blemishes or it makes my skin dry and I still don't see any improvements. What should I do? I feel as if my acne is endless and the problem will never be resolved. I will be 29 and July and do not want to finish off my 20's and into my 30's with this problem. I used to have the prettiest, smoothest skin and now I just don't know what to do. Please help. |

| | I have frequent breakouts on my chin more than any place on my face. I am 50 years old and battling acne like a teenager. I have gone to a dermatologist but nothing seems to work. I get confused because I have super oily skin large pores and sensitive skin. What do I use? I am a African American female, very light complected. I use a loose face powder by Ebony fashion fair because I can't stand a oily face. I also would like to use a moisturizer for my face because although I have oily skin, the surface of my skin sometimes looks dry. I also have a discoloration over my top lip that is driving me crazy. I was given a product called HQ4 hydroquinone, tretinoin & hydrocortisone, so far I haven't noticed much difference and I've been using it since spring of 2007. Any advice???? |

| | I have combination skin and it is more dry due to the winter. I have been getting a blemish on my cheek about every few weeks. I would considerate a cystic blemish. Any suggestions on prevention and elimination once a blemish occurs?

| | Hi, I am 26 and I have had mild/moderate acne since I was a teenager. I went to the dermatologist over two years ago and he put me on Tretinoin 0.05% and pills. After using the Tretinoin for about 6 months and switching from minocyclin to bactrum, I finally had a clear face. My 95% clear face maintained for almost two years, before I started having breakouts again recently out of nowhere. I thought it was just a short term thing, but it wasn't, so I went back to the dermo, and he kept me on the Tretinoin and switched pills. I continue to have minor breakouts, and it as if the cream has stopped working. I have read that there are no tests for this cream for more than 48 weeks. So, my question is, do you think the Tretinoin has stopped working, and that I'm just wasting my time with it? Or, even worse, is it starting to CAUSE breakouts because of my long-term use? I'm very concerned that if I stop using it, my acne will get worse than ever, but I'm also thinking it could help it as well. I'm very confused as to what to do. |

| | when i was in the fifth grade i had acne all over my forehead. small bumps under the skin. at that time i was told to use clinique soap and I don't know what else. i have never had this problem again until now. i am 36 and i have small red bumps under the skin that never develop on my forehead. there is a lot of them! I have been using pro avtice and it helps a little but it never fully goes away. I also feel it is making my skin produce alot more oil than it use to. Please... can you tell me something that is affordable that would clear this up and then also something that I could use as a daily regimen to keep my normally great complexion? |
