16 Type Of Cleanser?
I generally have combo skin, but can be slightly oily in T-zone and dry ruff patches in others. I tend to have occasional but regular breakouts. Should I use a acne cleaner to maintain and to cleanse pores, or standard combo. I also have fairly sensitive skin. Please help...
17 Cleanser Reaction
Hello Meagan. You had lent me your help before and I was hoping you could again. I'm having a problem with cleansers. I have tried every cleanser I can think of.. Ive used dry skin cleansers, sensitive cleansers, chemicals based to organic cleansers, even pH balanced cleansers, water based and oil based. I have tried over 30+ cleansers with no exaggeration on the number at all. Every one of the cleansers, all 30+, have dried my skin out. They leave it dry, tight, and flaky. Could you help me understand why? I find it hard to believe that 30 some cleansers would all be too harsh on my skin. I thought maybe it was from the massage action that I was getting dry skin. I really hope you can help me though, I have acne prone skin and that's why I started using a cleanser, but I feel as if I may not be able to. I used to have oily skin, but now it is dry, even with no cleanser, just water and a moisturizer after a month, its still dry. Do you think this could be permanent? And is exfoliation a good idea in this case? Thank you for helping me. I really hope my skin isn't "ruined" so to say.
18 Appropriate Cleanser
I submitted a question just a few days ago but I have one more. I'm in my early 20's. I'm currently using Spectro Jel Sensitive cleanser, a Neutrogena oil-free moisturizer for sensitive skin and La Roche-Posay's Effaclar Toner. I'm finding that my Spectro Jel isn't removing my makeup and my toner is left to do the entire job (which means I often can't get it all before my skin dries out from excessive toner). I tried Cetaphil's Gentle Cleanser and it did remove my makeup but I found that it made me really oily within a couple of hours. I've never had that problem before. My skin is normally combination. Slightly oily in the T-zone and quite dry everywhere else (it has actually calloused in the past from using harsh products). I was going to try Cetaphil's Oily Skin Cleanser but it has masking fragrances in it and I don't know if that will be appropriate for me as I have allergies. Also, I have psoriasis and exzema on other areas of my body and I'm concerned that irritating fragrances may trigger it to start on my face. Should I just avoid the cleanser and try something else or is this type of fragrance a safe one? I like very basic cleansers. I usually ask a pharmacist for advice rather than the cosmetician working in the department with the cleansers. Thank you again.
19 Face Cleanser
I am 57 with oily skin in the T-zone and normal skin on the checks with large pores and a few fine lines. I have many blackheads on my nose and chin, but rarely get pimples. I am looking for a cleanser that will help with the blackheads and make sure I am clean. What's the difference between Cellex C Betaplex gentle foaming and Jan Marini Biogylcolic facial cleanser? Which one would you suggest, or is there something else I should try instead? Thanks!
20 Facial Cleanser
I recently ordered Pevonia cleanser and although I like it, it is not the same as the sample I was mailed. I prefer the pyto-gel cleanser by Pevonia Botanica but wonder if it's for me. I am 62 and have sensitive skin which is normal to dry. Please advise. Thanks.
21 Cleanser Recommendation
Hi, I have oily acne-prone skin. Can you recommend a cleanser that will help with acne and remove all makeup, even long wearing foundation or concealer? Thanks for your help!!
22 Medicated Cleanser
Hello there Meagan. I have a quick question for you. I am 20 years old, and have mild inflammatory acne. I'm working full time right now and also going to college. I hate routines when it comes to my acne, I either don't have time or am too tired. Therefore I wanted to try something different, a medicated cleanse. I hear a lot of people saying they've had good results with medicated cleansers. I was specifically looking into a Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser, since I was told BP is best for my type of acne. Is this true, would a BP cleanser be good for me? Lastly, I have heard from a few estheticians and one dermatologist that medicated cleansers are not good. The response I get is that they are quickly massaged onto the skin and then rinsed away, so the active ingredients don't have time to penetrate the skin and actually do anything. I mentioned about leaving the cleanser lay on my face a bit longer and they said that's bad also, then the other ingredients could start to irritate your face. Could you possibly give me your thoughts on this, and whether or not you think a medicated cleanser is a good choice. Thank you very much for your time and assistance.
23 Facial Cleansers
I have went through many facial cleansers and have yet to find one I like. I have cystic acne with very oily skin. I have been looking at the Dermalogica or the Jan Marini facial cleansers and was wandering which one of the two would you recommend? Thank you.
24 Cleanser Myths...
Hi, I never really had a problem with acne until a couple months ago when I went through a very stressful time period. Now I have moderate to severe acne that won't go away. I have heard several people mention Noxzema as a good cleanser, I used it and my skin seemed more even looking but then I read on the Internet that the ingredients in Noxzema can be harmful to skin and even worsen acne by clogging pores. Is this true? And if so, what other moderately priced cleansers should I try? Thanks!
25 Cleanser And Moisturizer
I have two questions for you... Since you do not ship M.D. Forte Cleanser 1 to Canada, I'm wondering what similar product you might suggest? I have dry, wrinkled, pigmented skin and during the winter I need a heavy duty moisturizer.I use different anti-wrinkle creams and serums but feel I need to hydrate my skin in the bitter cold months. Suggestions? Please offer a range so that I might choose my price point. Thank you in advance.
26 Best Cleanser
26 year old female, I don't have bad acne, but I get it from time to time. Mostly hormonally I assume, and my pores are not large, but not small either. Most cleansers I use leave my face tight and dry, so then I moisturize, and then 15 minutes later my skin is so oily. I guess I'm looking for the best option to keep acne away, not over dry me, and also be good for my sensitive skin. Any help would be great. A friend I know uses Acnexus, I've tried it and like the exfoliating factors, and it didn't over-dry my skin, but when I used my toner afterwards a lot of dirt still came off?
27 Moisturisers And Cleanser
please could you recommend a moisturiser and cleanser as i have very dry skin. i am using clinique products at the moment. my skin feels very itchy and i have bad spells of redness which is getting worse especially around the eyes now.i have heard a lot about your products and would like to test them out. thank you
28 Facial Cleansers
I am 29 and still struggle with breakouts. They're along my jawline and chin mostly. I'd classify it as mild acne. The rest of my face doesn't really break out, but gets red and splotchy and sometimes tiny red bumps will form. What products would you recommend?
29 Facial Cleanser
hi i like higher end skincare products and i am not so happy with the brand i am using (cosmedicine). i have normal/oily skin and i live in sunny Florida. what do u recommend?
30 Skincare, Cleanser
I'm looking for a cleanser that deep cleans for smaller pores but will "calm" my skin ( I have rosacea and a little bit of acne on my forehead and a few bumps (clear) under my eyes). I also have oily skin (gets oilier throughout the day). Thank you!
31 Facial Cleanser
