| | I've read that when using glycolic acid products, you should not wax. I've just started using Joey New York Pure Pores Toner/Moisturizer and Joey New York Cleansing Gel with Vitamin C. Both products contain glycolic acid. Are these the types of products that you should not be using if you wax your eyebrows -- or does that caution apply only when you're using glycolic acid in higher concentrations like a glycolic peel? |

Retina Micro + Glycolic Acid? |
| | I've heard really good things about glycolic acid products. Lately I've been washing with a glycolic cleanser in the morning, and then with cetaphil + retina micro at night. I was wondering if it would be okay to add a glycolic renewal gel in the mornings after the wash, or if this will interfere with the retina micro? Also, would a glycolic acid peel be an option while on retina micro? I've heard that they can really help with scarring and skin texture. Thanks!! :) |

| | What is your opinion about glycolic products? I'm starting to use an MDForte product with 20% glycolic acid. What should I notice with my skin? I have very good skin but thought I could improve it even more with glycolic products. I'm 45 years old. I know that your skin can become more sensitive when using glycolic products so a sunscreen is definitely needed. I do have some slight hyperpigmentation around my jaw line which is why I've decided to try a glycolic acid. Thank you. |

Glycolic Acid Treatment |
| | Hello! Around a year ago I was noticing a dark black spot on my face about a half inch below my eye. It looks like a blackhead, but it's really dark. So I squeezed it... and what came out was like ink - like a black liquid. Weird. It came back a few more times (over enough time that I wasn't too worried about it) and I just kept squeezing it out. Then one day it didn't come out, instead it went further in and now it's stuck. Now it is about the diameter of dull pencil lead in size.
I went to the dermatologist about something unrelated, but mentioned it to her. She said it looks like a little tattoo (which it does now that it's stuck under my skin) and asked if I had ever hit myself w/ a pen; I laughed and said no. She assured me it would go away with time as my skin renews itself. Well, it's still here. It's been almost a year. But her comment about it looking like a tattoo made me think it may be mascara or eyeliner that got into my pore when I washed my face. What are your thoughts? Anyway - I hate it, do you think glycolic acid would help make it go away? Is there something you would recommend for it? Thank you! |
