I am of a dark skin tone. I want to use the PCA Skin (pHaze 13) Pigment Gel HQ Free, followed by the PCA Skin
(pHaze 15+) C-Quench. I understand that the C-Quench speeds the results of the Pigment Gel. Now I understand that I am supposed to follow the C-Quench gel with a nourishing moisturizer. Would a glycolic moisturizer be too strong to use? I wanted to use the Glytone Exfoliating Lotion 1, however I didn't know if this would be too aggressive. Should I use a non-AHA cream instead? The reason I was asking is because I want to include an AHA cream to my regimen. I appreciate any help!

Thank you for the reply to my last questions. It was very helpful! I was wondering...from the Peter Thomas Roth skin care line, would you recommend the Glycolic Acid Wash over the 2% Salicylic Acid Wash? I actually have been using the 2% Salicylic Acid Wash for about 3 months now and have not seen any major help with acne or skin roughness/bumpiness. Should I switch?
Also, should I get rid of my PTR Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads (used only at night) if I invest in the 3% Glycolic Acid Wash?
Lastly, would you recommend adding the Glycolic Acid Toner to my regimen or would this be an overkill?

| | Hi, I am having a bit of a problem. I went to a dermatologist and I underwent a treatment of Neostrata 50% glycolic acid. She was not that careful so some of the acid went into my left eye. It felt like my eye was burning. The dermatologist lead me to the sink and told me to wash it out. After that I went to the hospital. It has been over a year now and I have a red spot in my eye. Is there any chance that my eye will get better. And how dangerous can it be to get the acid into the eyes? Please answer ASAP I need to know.

| | Hi!! Currently I use a AHA wash in the a.m. followed by Prevage MD and the sunscreen and in the evening I use a gentle face wash and Retin A mico 0.04. I don't feel like I am accomplishing much (Prevage has done nothing and it has been 9 mos). So I was thinking of switching to Skinceutical Vit c- what do you think and what is the difference between the C and the C ferulic acid one? What Strength Glycolic Acid Right For Me? |

I have had acne since my early teens. I have oil skin and large pores. I was clear for a few years in my late teens when I was using a combination of oral antibiotics, tazorac gel at night, and benzamycin gel during the day.
My skin has changed a lot in recent years. I have combination skin now with frequent breakouts (possibly hormonal but I am on the pill...) I have an oily T zone and cheeks but acne-prone jawline (black heads, white heads, and cystic acne)that is sensitive and itchy at times, and lots of scarring.
Currently i use a salicylic acid face wash, witch hazel toner, and oil free moisturizer and use a face mask a few times a week. But my skin still breaks out and is scarred and dull. I am considering using a glycolic acid face wash because my sister has had success with it, but I'm afraid it might be too strong for my sensitive areas. Is there a standard strength you would recommend for someone like me? Any other recommendations for my skin?

Glycolic Acid - Biomedic - Worse Before Better? |
| | Hello - I've heard that when using products with Glycolic Acid in them that your skin can get worse before it gets better, as if it's purging all of the bad stuff out. I've use Biomedic's Purifying Cleanser, Conditioning Solution & Condition Cream twice a day for about 2 weeks. It's made existing pimples disappear in only a couple of days, but I've noticed an increase in breakouts around my chin area. I'm 29 and think that the breakouts are because of hormones, so I'm going to be starting birth control pills soon to help out, but would like some advice on a good skin care regimen as well. Should I stick with the Biomedic products for a few more weeks to see what happens or do you recommend I switch to something else? Thanks! |

I have another question though, I've read that glycolic acid is really helpful for the skin, but there seems to be so many different types of glycolic products. So my question is, which would be best for my combo acne prone and acne scar plagued skin: a glycolic lotion, pad or cleanser; also which brand do you recommend?
