| | I'm in need of a sunscreen for my very fair, 40 year old skin which has occasional breakouts and tends to be sensitive. I would wear it under makeup. I was looking att eh solbar PF liquid spf 30 for oily skin but am not sure of the ingredient alcohol sd listed in it.

| | Hello. My problem is that I tend to have oily skin. I know I should wear SPF everyday especially since I live in Miami and spend a lot of time outdoors. However, every face cream I try just makes my skin feel oily even if it says it's ""light"" and oil free. Can you recommend a brand that won't make my face more oily? I feel like my face is always dirty even though I wash it in the morning, afternoon and at night My skin tone also looks uneven and I'd like to have it look a little ""brighter"". Thanks for your help.

I am having difficulties in finding an appropriate sunscreen that can layer my MD Formulations cremes and I would appreciate a recommendation.
I have been examined by a specialist that have stated that I have a highly sensitive dry skin that is very acne prone. I also suffer from some redness in the acne problem areas, and a few (not many) small broken blood vessels. She did not mention Rosacea but I guess that is a matter of definition and maybe it could be in an initial phase?
I am 35 years old and I have been having acne problems the last 20 years.
I have tried a lot of cleansers and cremes before ending up with my current regimen. They either irritated, caused breakouts or could not give enough moist. The moist level is nowadays very good thanks to the MD creams and the Murad acne gel keeps the break outs under control. Unfortunately I have become sun sensitive due to the Salicylic Acid ingredient.
Current daily skin regimen:
Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel
Murad Moisturizing Acne Treatment Gel (Problem areas)
MD Formulations Skin Repair Complex
MD Formulations Critical Care Shielding Crème
I also layer MD Formulations Antioxidant Comfort Crème on dry areas at night.
I have tried sunscreens like the Peter Thomas Roth Ultra-Lite Oil-Free Sunblock SPF30
and MD Formulations Total Protector 30. The PTR Sunblock irritated my skin. The MD Total Protector was also somewhat irritating but not as much as the PTR crème, and the general feeling also was that the skin did not “breathe normal“ with the MD Total Protector, especially indoor.
Both cremes caused some blemishes.
I tend to spend most of the day indoors.
I also tried Murad Perfecting Day Cream SPF30 during a month as an alternative to the MD Cremes but it caused severe acne break outs.
Can you please give any recommendations.

| | What facial SPF sunscreen would be good for someone with very oily and sun-sensitive skin, that you could apply under makeup? Also, I was thinking of purchasing the Solbar Liquid 30, but isn't alcohol bad for your skin? Do you have suggestions for someone who has a sun allergy- gets rash on arms and legs with sun exposure? I'm using claritin and sunblock every day to manage it. |

| | Dear Meagan I am 43 years old with combination skin - I get pretty oily on my forehead, nose and a little on my cheeks. I have problems with dark pigmentation areas on my face, especially on my forehead (? due to high shine area). What sunscreen or moisturizer with sunscreen would you recommend that wont cause me to breakout and decrease the shine on my face. I will be using it under mineral powder foundation. I was also wondering which all over body sunscreen you would suggest - my upper arms get small pimples on them from some over the counter sunscreens. Thanks for your help. |
