Adult Acne | | | I have had acne on and off since I was 13. I started dermalogica and it clearned it up when I was 14 but it got worse due to fluctuating hormones and I had to switch to something more aggressive. I have had it under control and now I am 24 and I used the la mer line for a couple of weeks and it made me break out around my chin and cheek area. I want to find a good regime for adult acne control so i wont have to switch on and off so many products. Do you recommend the dermalogica medibac line to clear up what i have now and continue with it? |

Adult Acne | | | I have been suffering from adult beginning at age 24, I am now 28 and still suffer. I will try various products that work for a period of time, but provide no permanent solution. I have changed my birth control numerous times, have had too many peels to count and am currently on the Obagi Clenzaderm line, which worked for the first 3 months, but is no longer effective. What other than Accutane can I use for a permanent solution? |

Adult Acne | | | Hi i am 19 and i have had acne for ever. I've tried the stuff ont the shelf and ordered stuff just when is seems to start working i break out even worse. If I stick with it to see if it's going to get better it doesn't. I've been to the doctor and everything she gave me ether didn't work or i broke out in a rash the hurt and i wouldn't use very much at all. All i have is black heads what do i do???? |

Adult Acne | | | Hi - I have tried many different products for my acne. Neutrogena, proactive, benzamycin, erthyomycin, salycilic acid. Nothing seems to help or prevent breakouts. It seems that I always have at least two pimples on my face at one time and I also have a problem with large pores/blackheads. Please help! Can you suggest a product or routine that may be effective. I am 33 and have combination skin. I am tired of trying to cover up acne!! |

Adult Acne | | | Hi. I am a 28 yo female who has had acne almost half my life now. I have it on my face, upper arms, back and legs. After doing some online research, I have come across several websites that claim that acne can be caused by food allergies, like dairy and gluten. Then some websites contradict that claim, saying acne doesn't have anything to do with your diet. Well, I don't know why I have acne but I do know that I eat a lot of dairy and wheat. Also, I have very oily skin that is also dry as well. So, these are my questions: Can acne be cause by food allergies? Should I see a dermatologist about my acne? How can a naturopathic doctor help my acne if at all? How can I reduce the oil? What are some good supplements for acne and healthy skin overall? Thanks a bunch! |

I am 46 year old and I am suffering from acne, I started getting acne in my early 30's and it is getting worse, I been to many dermatologists over the years and tried many products..they work for awhile and it starts all over again. I have sensitive oily/com skin and I get bumps around my chin area and t zone...It takes sometimes month for it to go away....I have some acne scars and a lot of discoloration....please give me some suggestions.

Adult Acne | | | Hi! I'm 24 yrs old. Over the last couple of years my skin as gone downhill. A little over a month ago I started using Murad. For the first two weeks my skin looked AWESOME! From there the condition has deteriorated - both sides of my chin as well as jawline are broken out and even on rare days when that area is smooth, the skin looks unhealthy- bright red acne scars that I never had prior to Murad. That's in addition to the smaller bumps I started getting around my mouth. Should I continue with the Murad or try something else? |

Adult Acne | | | Hi, I am a 21 one year old, and 6 months ago i have stop drinking for pleasure ie: going out clubbing, dinner etc because of my skin problems. I have broken out with acne which i never had before around my jaw and on my neck. When i go to the gym, the acne gets worse. I am using proactiv, taking Duac acne cream, prescribed by my doctor and it hasn't really made the pimples go away. I am eating a balanced diet, drinking plenty of water. Can you please suggest any other solutions that can get rid of my acne.

Adult Acne | | | Hi, I never had acne (or at least anything noticeable) as a teenager, in my mid 20's (after i got pregnant) during my pregnancy i got acne, well, after my 2nd child and now i am 30 i as still fighting acne, i have tried pro-active and murad my dr. also, gave me benza-clin problem is i have these bumps that are under the skin on my cheeks and if anything comes out of them, it just comes back hours later, i have used everything what are these bumps and why won't they go away??? I've tried Retin-A, Proactive, Antibiotics, Differin, Tazorac, spirinoloactone, birthcontrol, benzoyl peroxide, salycilic acid, benzaclin, and had photodynamic therapy, levulan blue light. nothing has helped...what do you think it could be? my skin has about 10 cysts at a time. and really bad scars. |

Adult Acne | | | I'm 30 years old and never had a problem with my face breaking out. In the last 6 months to a year it has started breaking out mainly around my chin area and now the lower sides of my cheeks. I've always had flawless and clear skin until recently. I've tried proactive and it helped for a little while then it was back to breaking out. I've actually scarred my face up pretty good picking at the pimples before they actually become a pimple because I'm not use to having them there. HELP! |

Adult Acne | | | Hi, I'm 21 years old and have recently (within the past 5 months) had a terrible outbreak of acne. When I was in my teens, I used topical Benzaclin once at night and it kept my face fairly clear. However, my acne has become much worse as of late. I began taking Minocycline, 100mg twice daily 5 weeks ago, but haven't noticed much progress. (I know it may take some people 2 months to see results). I also began using benzaclin EVERY time after washing my face, so that I would always have a layer of it on, even under my makeup.
I went to the dermatologist today, told her about my lack of progress, and she prescribed Duricef, 500mg twice daily, and also suggested slowly easing my way into retin A by putting it on for 2 minutes (OVER my makeup) at night and then washing it off and going to bed.
So my questions are:
Will switching antibiotic regimens slow the process of improvement? If it takes 6 weeks for results from Duricef, does that mean 6 weeks from today, or is there a chance that since I've been on minocycline for 5 weeks that I will begin to notice improvement fairly soon?
--My other question is, will going to bed with nothing on my face (after placing the Retin A on my skin for 2 minutes then washing it off to prevent acne flare up/irritation) make my skin worse? Lately I've been loading on the benzaclin (even though I've been told by many this doesn't necessarily do anything) out of pure fear that more ugly zits will be waiting for me in the morning.
Thank you for your help, and I really would appreciate any insight onto how I may go about improving my condition, as it has caused me great emotional trauma to the point where I am now on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications. |
