Problems After Hair Removal |
| | Dear Dr.Meagan
i asked you 2 weeks ago about problems after shaving my butt area, and your kind answer was to use: follique revolutionary skin therapy - sensitive skin. and Bliss ingrown hair eliminating peeling pads. BUT: can i find it easily at the states? do i need prescription to buy it? do i need to use this medications forever? while using the medication can i have a smooth nice butt or will still have little problems(do the medication will resolve the problem completely or partially)? thank you and thanks for your care and reply. |

Non-inflamed Clogged Pores |
| | Skin around the side creases of my skin, and now my chin too, has a problem. Every day these pores not only fill, but overfill--creating white "buttons" or tags sitting off the surface of the skin. They are clogged, obviously, but not in the traditional sense. They are not inflamed at all, and are definitely not whiteheads or blackheads. I can take my tweezers, grip the little top, and simply slide it out. SO gross! It pulls out a long piece of sebum or whatever, like a pore strip would normally do...except mine fill up and then have a iceberg tip on TOP of the skin! So not only are my pores clogged, they actually overfill and leave white dots! On my chin, they are like a million tiny little flaps. I cannot take a hour to pull these out every day! But they are noticeable! I am 32, did not break out too bad as a teen, and now, the older I get, the MORE I am breaking out. And that is in addition to the nose/chin thing, I wash my face every day, and I've tried every cleanser under the sun. WHY does my skin do this? I have oily skin, and it seems to be getting oiler, and yet areas are dry --it seems oil "underneath" and dry on top at the same time. Help me! -- I've never read anything about those things before! |

Chronic Ingrown Hairs On Face |
| | Hey,
I have 2-3 hair follicles that produce curled hairs. The shape of the resulting hair produces ingrown hairs... and hairs that lie parallel to the face under a thin translucent layer of skin (like an ingrown but not as bad). See below picture of a plucked hair from this follicle:

How can I treat this? Is electrolysis the best route? |

Anti-aging For Sensitive Skin |
| | I have sensitive, dry skin. I am sensitive to AHA's, retinol, Vit. C, parabens, sulfates and menthol's. I would like to try skin care with growth factor and palmitoyl tripeptide 7. Can you recommend a product that I can use? Also, can you recommend a primer and a pressed mineral foundation that might work for me? |

Tanning Bed Burn? |
| | I am 40 years old and until just within the last few months have had pretty normal skin. I overdid it in a tanning bed between June and September. Only 4 months. My chest wasn't "burnt" during this period, but got red and irritated. It was also shiney. About 6 weeks ago, I noticed vertical lines (or wrinkles) on my chest. I have had "sun spots" on my chest for years, but never wrinkles. Could these be cause by the 4 short months of tanning? My chest is still somewhat red and irritated but no longer shiney. Is my chest healing? How long will the healing take? What will help it heal faster, and will the healing make the lines go away or subside at all? HELP! My chest looks like a 60-year-old's. |

Red Blotches On Body When Hot |
| | Hi, I'm 15 years old, and whatever I have is EXTREMELY embarrassing for me, and I really need some help. Whenever my body is exposed to heat (ex: being in the sun, hot showers/baths, sometimes exercising) My skin (mainly my legs and feet- hips to toes) goes a splotchy red. If you press on it, it goes white for a second, then back to red so I am pretty sure it's blood related. And it is NOT rosacea or vitiligo, so i wouldn't bother with those) but after about 30 minutes to an hour of being out of the sun or heat, it goes away. Afterwards my skin does NOT go dry, and it doesn't itch a whole lot. But, if I have been stationary in heat and i move my joints (ex: knees) it'll prickle, like the feeling of swelling. It's really embarrassing because I have to wear pants and sometimes sweaters in the summer when it's boiling out and everyone else can wear shorts. Please help me, this is making my life quite difficult. |

Vitamin C |
| | Hi, I have a very dry skin that is acne prone and sensitive. I am 30 years old (male) and I have been breaking out since early years. I get mild glycolic peels every month at a clinic and is diagnosed with early stage rosacea.
I have tried both products containing salicylic acid and glycolic acid and the later seems to work better.
I am currently using MD Formulations line for sensitive and dry skin:
Facial Cleanser sensitive (glycolic), Serum (Facial creme (glycolic)), Comfort creme (non glycolic for dry skin) and Total Protector SPF 30.
I am using the products both AM and PM (except sunblock). I am now thinking of incorporating a vitamin C serum into my regimen, for instance Cellex or SkinCeuticals. I have previously tried a sun block that contained 5% C vitamin instead of the MD Total Protector. It made wonders for my acne but I picked up a lot of redness. I do not know whether it was the vitamin C, or the botanical extracts in the sun creme, or the combination with the glycolic serum (Facial creme) that caused the increased redness. Is it recommendable to use a vitamin C serum in this case? If yes, should I apply it instead of the glycolic serum or use it together? |

Clobetasol |
| | I have eczema on my legs and only Clobetasol will control it. Once it is under control, I need to apply Clobetsol once every 8-10 days. Is it safe to apply it at that interval. For a while I was applying it twice every 8th day, with the other days applying atopiclair twice a day. This keeps it under control. If I stop using clobetsol then i wind up needing it every day for a couple of weeks to get it under control. |
