526 Accutane And Hair Thinning
I have been on Accutane for 4 1/2 months and have started noticing that I am shedding a lot more hair than normal in the shower and when I brush my hair. I was wondering if this is caused by the Accutane, and if so, if the hair will stop thinning and grow back after the Accutane regimen is completed. Are there supplements or hair care habits that can minimize this thinning?
527 Skin Care
i used proactiv for 2 years but its no longer working what can i use to clear up what i have now and help prevent it in the future? Thank you.
528 Acne
I asked my dermatologist about the adult acne i have been expereincing in the last two months. She told me to wash with Neutrogena anti-acne wash, use Differin gel, and never use a moisturizer in the summer. I have tried this for a week and my face is really dry, cracking, and peeling. It looks worse than it did before! Is it a good idea to not use a moisturizer and to do all these things to dry out my skin? I thought moisturized skin was healthy skin?
529 Atopic Pleat
I'm 16 and I have a prominent crease under one of my eyes. Under this eye I used to have bad dry skin and ive been using an ointment and the dry skin has been releived, however, this prominent crease stll remains. I have researched into it and I believe it is called an Atopic Pleat or a Dennie-Morgan fold. Is there a cure for this? or anyway to reduce the appearance of it? Also what could be the cause for it? Thanks.
530 Skin & Pregnancy
I am 20 yrs old and 27 weeks pregnant. I have this one patch of skin on my stomach that burns. It does itch alot but it's not a rash. I have never seen any visible abnormalities but it feels like my skin is burning off and it's so unbelievably painful. It hurts just to wear shirts because when i move clothes rub against it. It's so painful - is there any thing i can do to stop it?
531 Life After Acutane
I quit taking accutane about a year ago and my skin was perfect until this summer. I'm starting to get a lil oily (not nearly as much as before) and starting to get frown lines and fine lines, and my skin is just life less and dull! I'm 32 years old....what should I use...and what brands would you recommend
532 Dry And Thin Skin: Help
Hello Dr., What can I do to help to reverse fine line and sagging mostly formed around my eye, month area? I am 38 and I have white and thin skin, Brown hair. My skin has gotten very drier since I moved from a humid climate to a drier one. In addition, after a day of work it looks like my face is falling down! I am using dermalogica age-smart line but It did not helped that much. I have noticed that Oxygen masks helps momentarily to mellow my problem. Could you suggest me a better way and product line to solve my problem ?! Thank you very much Alisa

535 Redness
I have fair, oily/combo, and acne prone skin. I've noticed that when I don't have make up on, the area around my mouth (upper lip & chin) turn red when I move my mouth. Like when I put chapstick on or open my mouth to eat something. It doesn't stay red for a long time, but it's jsut weird that it gets so red just from moving my face. My skin didn't used to do that before I started having acne. Is there some kind of moisturizer that I could use that would make the skin less sensitive and red?
536 Scaring
I grow a uno-brow very nicely, and I have to plug it. However my problem has increased overtime, see the problem is whenever i pluck my skin gets irritated, and a while ago i developed some scabs. Being a picker, and the fact that scabs between your eyebrows looks extremely weird, I've made them worse. The scabs are finally starting to go away, but now i have left between my eyebrows extremely pink from the repetitive picking. Is there anything i can do to reduce this appearance.
537 White Rice Like Flakes In Pores
It is not white or blackheads as normally described. The pores on my face have little white rice looking things sticking out..1000's all over. I can pull some out with a tweezers but there are just too many. No bump, no pain just ugly up close.
538 Substitute For Obgai Rosaclear Sunscreen
Hi Dr., I am an Asian and I have moderate Rosacea and I would like to order Obgai Rosaclear sunscreen. However it is prohibited to ship outside US. Do you have any recommendation? I have tried many sunscreen which is for my skin type but it cannot work. I listed here below for your reference. 1)Dermalogica - Ultra Sensitive faceblock SPF 25, my face get red after using it. 2) SkinCenticials - Daily Sun Defense SPF 20,it is very hard to remove and my skin feel very dry. 3)SpectraBan seems work to me but it still make my face flare up sometimes Many thanks
539 MD Forte
I just started using MD Forte Cleanser II and Face Lotion II and notice that I'm breaking out. I use Retin A .05% every other night for about a year and have had some break out but it looks as if I have more bumps under the skin since starting MD Forte. So many reviews said it helped acne and cleared up the skin. My dermatologist suggested it. It's not too strong for my skin, I'm getting a gentle peel and it's not stinging but I do seem to be more oily. Do I push through because it's cleaning out the pores? I thought the Retin A was doing that. Help and thank you for any info.
540 Red, Flaky Rash Around Mouth, Eyes
I have lupus. Recently I have developed a rash under the corners of my lips and around my eyes. I went to the doctor and he told me it was another manifestation of lupus, but this rash is not even similar to my lupus rash. There are no bumps or pustules. It looks like someone burned me with a hot iron. No matter how I exfoliate, the skin continues to flake. It doesn't respond to steroid creams (which is another reason I don't think it has anything to do with lupus). It doesn't respond to moisturizers, not even Vaseline. It doesn't get better or worse. It just stings and itches all the time and flakes, ruining my makeup (which is important, because I need my makeup to cover my butterfly rash)and making me miserable. Once I had to go home from school because it hurt so badly and I felt so ugly. What could this be? It sucks so hard.
541 Skin Type
I can't figure out my skin type. I have pretty bad acne and my face looks and feels very oily throughout the day. So I use products for oily skin. They are not harsh products, I try to use things with natural ingredients whenever possible. Anyway, despite the apparent oiliness, my skin feels dry as soon as I wash it and unless I apply moisturiser it looks flaky. Even after I exfoliate I still have some flakiness on my skin. It flakes pretty much every day and I can't use certain foundations because they make my skin look flaky and peel. What's going on? I would say that perhaps I have combination skin, but I thought that meant oily in some places and dry in others. My skin seems to be both all over. I don't see how that's possible. I want to get rid of this acne, but because of my dry skin issues I can't buy anything which dries my face out. Those are the only products that work to help get rid of the oil though. I'm so confused.
