Red, Flakey Skin On Nose |
| | I am 34 and have always had pretty good skin. However, for the last several months the skin on my nose always seems to be irritated. It is usually a little red and the skin usually peels and flakes in cycles. The pores on my nose are also becoming more and more noticeable. I have pretty normal skin in general. It tends to be a little oily in the T-zone but normal everywhere else on my face. Depending on the time of month, I some times see adult acne, which usually occurs on my chin area. Any suggestions on how I can help calm and moisurize the skin on my nose without causing more break outs? What kind of products and what type of skin care regimen should I follow? Thank you!!! |

Mixing Brands For The Perfect Regimen |
| | I am trying to come up with the "perfect" regimen for my skin. After researching all of your products, I came up with a system that sounds great, but mixes different brands. Is this OK to do?
Here is my plan: 1)Replenish Hydrating Cleanser by MD Forte, 2) Cffectives HP Serum 10% by Obagi, 3) Oligopur Balance Emulsion by Phytome, and 4) Ultra Sensitive Face Block SPF 25 by Dermatologica. |

My question is..I am using Stieva A cream (prescribed by my doctor)at night and Effaclar La Roche Posay cleanser night and day. I just bought the Effaclar K and Effaclar AI as well and I just want to make sure they are safe to use along with the Stieva A cream as I am looking for more results. Thanks for your time. |

Dry Flaky Skin |
| | Hello,
I am 26 years old and within the last few months my skin has started to change. My chin gets really dry and flaky. It goes away for awhile but then returns. I use Cetaphil face wash and moisturizer. What do you recommend that I use or do to help this? Thanks |

Doxycycline |
| | Hello,
Last week I took my 11 year old daughter to a local dermatologist. He gave her an oral perscription of Doxycycline. I have read about this medicine on line. My daughter has what I call blackheads, that she has had since she was 3 in the T-zone area of her face. My question is, with the risks involved with taking this medicine, do you think it will work? I am very concerned about the risks involved. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Psoriasis And Microban |
| | Hello,
2 years ago, I have developed moderate psoriasis which triggers 3-6 months. The first place where it started was in the webbing between my thumb and first finger on left hand. My question is... can Mircoban (used on shopping carts at the stores) be the cause of sending my immune system out of whack. Coincidence has it that a new store with new Microban carts opened up in town within a week of my first symptoms. |

Facial Irritations |
| | I was wonderig if you had ay recomedations on how to treat facial irritations. I have acne and for the past few weeks i have begun to get these dry patches around my mouth and noze. Even though i stopped all acne treatments the irritations are getting worse. I have already seen a doctor who told me it was my eczema and told me to keep the areas moisturized. But nothing seems to work. Do you have something that could sooth my irritation and not agrivate my acne?
Any help would be apreciated

Hyperpigmentation And Sun Block |
| | I have additional questions. (I emailed in about Phytomer products on Saturday) I have uneven skin color on my arms along with small scarring on arms. Is there any product that can help correct uneven skin tone on the arms. Also, I spend alot of time swimming in the summer. What do you recommend for a really good product for the face and body that will block everything harmful? What UV protection should I get? I never "tan" but do swim when it is very sunny and my arms get worse in the summer, even though I use sunblock. Thanks for your help. Also, are at home Microdermabrasion treatments really effective? Or is it best to go to a licensed specialist?

Wrinkles And Agespots |
| | I just purchased from Dermstore SkinCeuticals Rehabilitative cream and I also use CE Freulic, Phyto+ and Intense Line Defense, but I have seen little improvement.
My question is, am I using the right skin treatment for aging skin?

Rosacea |
| | Hi Megan,
I saw a dermatologist a few months ago about my mild rosacea. She prescribed Finacea gel to be applied once daily. My affected areas are my chin and nose and she stated that the recommended twice daily dose by the company did not improve results. Please comment on that.
Also I will experience red hot flushing on my nose- what can be done to calm or diminish those flareups.
One more question I have just purchased philisophy cleansing and moisturizing products would the microdelivery mini-peel pads be okay to use on my face- should I avoid areas of rosacea with microdermabrasion and/or "peel" products?
Thank You!

Steam Room And Wrinkles. |
| | Hello Meagan,
I was wondering about wet steam rooms and the affects they have on facial wrinkles. I have been sitting in a hot steam room at my local gym every day for about 10 minuets everyday for the last few months. I apply a great moisturizer all over after every sesession. Will this cause my facial skin to wrinkle more?
Thanks,
Sarah |

Phytomer Products |
| | I recently had a facial and the gal uses the phytomer line. I really like it but need help in determining what products are best for me. I am 46 with sun damaged skin (younger years) and have slight rosacea. My skin gets very pink/red for EVERY reason! I had oily skin but now it is getting very dry in places. I need something for my face, eyes, neck, and chest. I need a cleanser, toner?, moisturizer and some kind of mask to use once a week. I have used Obagi products and am using Cellex C Advanced serum along with the Hydra 5 and an eye cream, but somehow my skin seems lifeless and dull, not to mention dry in places. Please help! I just bought Estee Lauder skin products but I don't have alot of confidence in them. (Renutriv, Perfecting lotion, Advanced night repair, Idealist. They are perfumy to a degree and I don't feel good about using products sold at a store. Am I wrong? Does Estee Lauder make a good product that will make a difference with my skin?)
Please help me out!
Thanks,

Adult Breakouts |
| | Hello,
All throughout my teen years I never had any problems with acne, or breakouts. When I hit my twenties, I suddenly began having skin problems. I noticed my skin breaking out quite frequently, so I started to use a generic version of ProActive, called AcneFree. It worked, and cleared up my skin beautifully but then it began drying it out very badly. I couldn't wear makeup, because my skin looked flakey and dry. I also noticed that when I would use it, my neck would break out in a rash. I switched to other methods (I used Mary Kay for a while, and then recently have started using an exfoliating scrub with salicylic acid) and have since started breaking out again. Nothing seems to help. I am so frustrated with my skin; just when I think it's clearing up, it breaks out again. What can I do? |
