Adult Breakouts |
| | Hello,
All throughout my teen years I never had any problems with acne, or breakouts. When I hit my twenties, I suddenly began having skin problems. I noticed my skin breaking out quite frequently, so I started to use a generic version of ProActive, called AcneFree. It worked, and cleared up my skin beautifully but then it began drying it out very badly. I couldn't wear makeup, because my skin looked flakey and dry. I also noticed that when I would use it, my neck would break out in a rash. I switched to other methods (I used Mary Kay for a while, and then recently have started using an exfoliating scrub with salicylic acid) and have since started breaking out again. Nothing seems to help. I am so frustrated with my skin; just when I think it's clearing up, it breaks out again. What can I do? |

| | I am 26 years old and I need some advice. I have a problem with acne on my chin. I don't break out anywhere else, but on my chin. I think that it is gone, but then another one pops up. Why am I only breaking out on my chin? What can I to pervent my chin from continusly breaking out? |

Dry Skin |
| | this may sound like a stupid question, but how do i know i have dry skin? if i wash my face with just water, it never dries up. but after using a cleanser for two days in a row, i begin to see dryness. does this mean that i should buy a cleanser for dry skin? in the middle of the day, i still see oilyness, i mean im 19, a pimple comes up every once in a while, but otherwise this is my only problem. i want to keep my skin clean, i still use differin every now and down, so i don't want it to clog up because of that. but if i use a cleanser to wash my face two days in a row, then my face begins to dry a little. i think it's because when i use the cleanser, i always have to use a lot of water to clean up afterwards, maybe im just cleansing wrong. thanks. |

| | I have medium acne on the sides of my cheeks, blackheads, whiteheads,and blemishes, I will be starting to use retinae, and benzaclin next week, I am 33 years old, so not only and I worried about my acne, but future aging, I currently use Proactive, but no results, and am afraid of what the benzoyl is doing to my skin as far as aging...what products do you have that will care for acne and aging...and can I use this with the retinae and benzaclin? |

** Hair Loss And Birth Control Pills |
| | I went off of the pill at the end of December and began noticing my hair falling out in the middle of March. After doing some research I found out that stopping the pill can cause hair loss a couple of months later. My problem is that I went back on the pill in the middle of February...not realizing the effects that the change back and forth would cause. I read that when you stop and also when you start taking oral contraceptives it causes your hair to go into the mature phase and then slough off in large amounts. I want to stop the hair loss as soon as possible. Should I continue taking the pill or should I discontinue use ?? I want my hair to grow back as soon as possible.Please help !! Thanks! |

Ethnic Acne Scarring And Benzoyl Peroxide. |
| | Hi :) I'm a 21 year old female of Pakistani decent. I was blessed to only have minor acne problems as a teen. Dark (not pitted) scars would appear after a pimple subsided (though tempting, I never picked them), and would generally take 2-4 months to completely fade away.
Acne became a problem so I started using Proactiv. It worked! But, feeling confident, I switched products and completely broke out. On my back and chest too! I'm now back on Proactiv but my past breakouts have left dark scars across my entire face, back, and chest.
OTC products I've looked at will take MONTHS to work. Is there a treatment (a product, laser treatments, anything!) that is effective and safe for my ethnic skin?
I have also read that benzoyl peroxide-containing acne treatments may injure ethnic skin and result in brown spots. Should I begin an entirely different cleansing routine? |
