Keratosis Pilaris RegimenKeratosis pilaris, sometimes called chicken skin, is a very common skin condition that is characterized by rough bumps on the skin. Keratosis pilaris is generally found on the upper and outer sides of the arms as well as on the thighs and buttocks; however, it can be found anywhere on the body except the palms of the hands and soles of the feet. Keratosis pilaris affects women more than men, and adolescents more than adults. Although KP is often misdiagnosed as acne, it is much different. This condition occurs when an excess of keratin accumulates around the hair follicles. Although there is no permanent cure, KP can be treated and calmed with the correct products. The following regimen will treat the symptoms of keratosis pilaris and minimize the appearance of this condition.
