Reviews of La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Daily Anti-Aging Primer With Sunscreen

After Mohs surgery and skin graft on my nose the surgeon stressed the importance of sun protection. She recommended this product. It suits my skin type and life style (no foundation and minimal makeup in general) perfectly. It gives my skin a porcelain finish. I use it after moisturizing. I do wish it came with more instructions: How much to apply? How often to reapply?

I am not prone to spending a lot on skin products but this has become essential.I'm even tempted to use it on the backs of my hands.

I love La Roche-Posay products and have been using some of them for a few years, so needless to say I was very excited to see a sunscreen/primer combo product, esp from this manufacturer. Well it wasn't bad, but it wasn't as matte and silky as I would have liked. I did shine up a bit a little later. For the cost, not willing to continue to purchase since I wasn't blown away by the effectiveness

Doesn't make my face feel greasy or heavy. Makes using sunscreen easy. Works nicely as a makup primer.

This primer was just too thick for me. Even when I used just the tiniest amount, it went on really thick and it was not creamy so it was hard to blend into my skin. Once I got it on though, I was able to apply make-up above it with no problem. I like that it has a high SPF. I prefer something a little lighter. It also smells very sunblocky (if you know what I mean)!

very greasy. make up do not stay on. strong smell. and break me out. strong sunscreen smells

I was worried this primer would make my oily skin even worse, but it actually also acts as a mattifier. A little thick, definitely not a serum consistency, but still was a good primer under mineral foundation. The sunscreen is an added advantage.

I really like using this primer under my foundation. I feel more comfortable, knowing that I have more SPF protection with something under my foundation.

The product goes on thicker than I expected but has a great smooth finish. I love the fact that it's a great sunscreen and primes as well. At age 52 I still deal with somewhat oily skin and I did have to blot a little more than normal during the day, but overall I think I'll try the product again. Cold weather may balance out the slightly oilier feel I have during the summer months.

I love the La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Daily Anti-aging Primer with Sunscreen!! The texture and ease of application makes it a breeze to use!! Helps make my make up stay put with an almost powdery silky like finish, plus gives you the SPF of 50!! I am more apt to use this product for the winter as I am using the La Roche-Posay Ultra Light Mineral Tinted Sunscreen for summer but at times I do layer both for added sunscreen protection!! Primers seem to be gaining popularity and to find one that has sunscreen in it is great. La Roche-Posay has long been making excellent skin care products and this is a nice extension of that. Primers are used to prep and smooth the skin surface to allow make-up to go on easier and to allow for a longer lasting application. The Anthelios line provides stable broad spectrum coverage against UVA and UVB rays, an essential part of an everyday skin care regimen. However, if you feel like you are only using a thin layer of primer (primer goes on before make-up and after all other products), I would also use another sunscreen for optimal protection. Whatever sunscreen you use, it needs to be applied with a rather thick layer to provide the amount of coverage on the label.
