I use the clear. You do see the powder for a short time after aplying. I don't think other people notice it.

The all clear actually does provide coverage for my skin. I am extremely fair (due to my sunscreen obsession) and it actually is a great match to my skin. I'd say if you have even a hint of color you'd need to get the next darker shade.
