Reviews of Sun Laboratories Tan Overnight Self Tanning Lotion - Medium

This is the best self tanner I ever used. The color looks totally natural - brown, not the orange look I've had from virtually every other tanner. The brown color guide helps a lot, so there is not streaking whatsoever. My best advice would be to keep washing your hands frequently as you apply the tanner. The first time I used it, I didn't wash my hands until the end and it took me literally ten minutes to get all the rubbed in color off my hands. I also needed to use a pumice. But the good news is my palms had no hint of color on them in the morning, so the pumice idea is actually great.

This product definitely gets it right on three major counts - great color, looks absolutely natural without the orange-y, rusty cast just about all other self tanners give me, and I've tried a number of them from the highest to lowest end. Amazingly, it has absolutely zero self tanner smell, from the time you put it on through the entire "baking" process. I can't imagine how they managed this as there is no heavy masking scent either, just a very light hint of almond. Next, it does not streak or leave "hard" edges as some tanners can when you go too dark and see the line of demarcation between the color and your actual skin tone. The price is great too. So why three stars?

For all its great attributes, it is a COLOSSAL MESS to use. It is like slathering yourself in mud. In first applying it I felt terrified about the results as it goes on extremely dark and with big streaks everywhere, but it turns out you really don't have to worry about those. And don't think you can slop this on and then go about your business for the day. It is called Overnite for a good reason. You can't do anything else except put on some old jammies and go to bed until the process is however.

Today I broke that rule..slopped some on, waited two hours, jumped in the shower and washed off all the color guide as I felt too gross after a while, and thought I had washed the tanner away too. I didn't - I am left with a light gorgeous tan that looks just like I got it from the sun.

I probably will by again but may not use too regularly as I dread the horrific mess it makes, and if I can get a larger size in a pump I would prefer that as when you get to the end of the bottle it dispenses in bigger blobs, thus wasting product. Since the color and evenness, along with the price, are so good, I certainly recommend it and I am sure I'll use it again.

The tan I got was very close to my natural color of a tan. Doesn't have the usual self-tanner scent - smells like almonds. I apply it every other day to maintain the color. Stains hands a lot even if you wash them immediately after and will stain your bedding as well (but washes away without a trace on white sheets). Palms of your hands return to normal color by the afternoon the next day. One bottle lasts for approximately 2-3 weeks with every other day application on a petite body.

Finally! Results in ONE night, no orangey color, no stained clothes! I used this product 3 nights in a row and instantly had a great looking tan! AND it really made my skin feel great after washing it off the next day... like it added oil-free moisture! I tend to have problematic skin (redness, dry patches but also breakouts on my back) and so sunless tanners usually add to the problems but not this one.

I've tried many "high end" tanning products and this lotion produces by far the most natural tan. At first I was a bit shocked at how dark the lotion was, but in applying it, the color was a plus because it made it obvious when I was putting too much on one area of skin.

I've never bothered to write a review before. This product more than deserves praise. I use it all the time now, even in winter for just a light bit of color.

"Sun" is a terrific self-tanning lotion. You need only to apply it every other day, using regular moisturizing lotion in between, to keep the nice brown tan. There are no orange hues to your skin. People actually have commented on my nice tan. I recommend it highly to anyone who is looking for healthy color without the sun's harmful rays.

Easy to apply, you can see where you have been. Be sure to wash your hands right after application.
