YonKa was founded in 1957 by botanist brothers from the Mühlethaler family near Paris, France. Together, they perfected a process for stabilizing essential oils in water-based emulsions. This was the beginning of what would become YonKa, a pioneer of esthetic aromatherapy and phytotherapy. Over the years, YonKa has established a reputation for consistently offering high-quality skin care products.
Today, Laboratoires Multaler, the parent company of YonKa, remains located in the Paris region and overseen by the Mühlethaler Family.
