Deep Clean Pores with Steep Clean... a summer must! by Blissworld Representative
Summer brings heat, humidity, elevated skin oils and perspiration - the perfect recipe for clogged pores. No matter what your skin age or skin type, deep cleaning pores is a must, especially in the summer. When pores are not cleared of excess oils and dead skin cells, they become more visible, and blackheads or breakouts can occur. Steep Clean 15 minute professional strength facial, for all skin types, is my favorite way to deep clean, de-clog and refine pores, exfoliate, smooth and brighten. Instantly! This facial treatment was formulated for professional use and is included in our Bliss spa skincare services. You can use Steep Clean facial 1-3 times per week. I love it because you get immediate results. And with regular use, you will see noticeable improvement in even the most stubborn clogged pores (uggh blackheads are such a challenge!)
How does Steep Clean work? Enzymes exfoliate skin-dulling, pore-clogging dead skin cells. Salicylic acid deep cleans pores. Fruit extracts brighten uneven skin tone. Zinc gluconate controls excess oils, without stripping skin. The results? Smoother, brighter looking skin... natural radiance and glow... just perfect for summer! 2009-06-14Comments
Steep Clean... I almost forgot... it's a great VALUE! by Blissworld Representative - Bliss Representative
I must add that one container of Steep Clean facial delivers about 50 uses, which amounts to about $1 per use... so not only is it a professional strength treatment, it's also a terrific value!

The Three Cs of Cellulite "De-dimpling" by Blissworld Representative
Bliss is a leader in cellulite treatment because we figured out that regimen is the best way to improve the appearance of cellulite. Three Cs - Consistent, Constant, Continuous treatment for best bulge-reducing results.
It's kind of like going to the gym. If you have a great program and you stick with it, you get results. My fave way to de-dimple is: daytime treatment with fat girl slim (thighs, hips, buttocks) and lovehandler (belly), then night time treatment with fat girl sleep. Be sure to massage in the treatments for 20-30 sec per treatment area. Do this daily and nightly for best results.
How do the products work? Fat Girl Slim and Lovehandler rev up surface metabolism and diminish the appearnace of water retention (that makes cellulite look worse) with encapsulated caffeine.
Fat Girl Sleep has essential oil of lavender to promote healthful rest, and sacred lotus flower extract, which has bee clinically proven to boost fat burning, lessen fat storage, reduce inflammation/water retention, protect connective tissues (all the big cellulite causes).
Your bikini and minis will thank you! 2009-06-05 |
SUN ALERT: spf only measures UVB protection, not UVA by Blissworld Representative
It's the official start to summer and that means sun! You don't need to be a dermatologist to know that sun ages your skin and is the #1 cause of skin cancer. So please use sun protection! And be sun smart. Are you aware that SPF only measures protection against burning rays(UVB)? SPF does NOT measure protection from UVA, which penetrates deeper into skin layers (making UVA potentially more harmful) and is responsible for skin AGING. I know you're thinking, "but my sunscreen and moisturizer say UVA/UVB protection." Well, here's the truth - there is currently no FDA requirement for manufacturers to measure the level of UVA protection. Yikes, right? UVA causes skin aging and is carcinogenic and there is no regulation? That's a fact. Thankfully, the FDA is working on this... for years at this point.
So what's a girl (or guy) you do? Look for products with a UVA protection rating. Not many products in the USA currently have it, probably because it is not yet required by the FDA and it costs manufacturers money to have UVA protection levels tested. I am very proud that when bliss formulated our new daily moisturizer, Best of Skintentions, we chose to be ahead of the curve because we wanted to insure that our customers are getting optimal, tested UVA protection. I call Best of Skintentions, with spf 15 anf PA++, a "megadose of protect and prevent" because it has proven, tested protection from those nasty UVA rays as well as the SPF for UVB. What's PA? It's an established, reputable UVA testing/rating system that is used extensively in Japan.
Recommendation: to insure you are receving optimal, TESTED sun protection from UVB (burning rays) and UVA (aging rays), look for sun protection with both and SPF and a PA rating.
ps- Use sun protection daily - even when you are at work -- flourescent lights emit UVA rays!
bliss kisses, Donna

Proper Sunscreen Application Very Important! by Blissworld Representative - Bliss Representative
Yes, spf measures ONLY protection from UVB (burning rays) not UVA!
SOOO glad you asked about sunscreen application! Using the proper amount of sunscreen and applying frequently enough is the key to preventing sun damage -- both burning and aging! You need about 1 oz to cover your body (that's a shot glass full, for you beachy party girls!) and a stripe down two fingers for face/neck/ears. You must re-apply every two hours AND/OR after swimming, sweating, etc. (even if the sunscreen says waterproof or sweatproof). Using too little sunscreen and not applying frequently is why we hear people say "I used sunscreen and still got burned!"
When my husband and I have a sun-n-fun holiday and spend a day outdoors, we go thru an entire container of sun screen/day (about 4 applications each @ 1 oz per application times 2 people = about 8 oz of sunscreen... or one container!)
SPF by swrite
So, the numbers (SPF 15, 30, etc) are only in reference to protection from UVB rays? How often should we re-apply sunscreen?
