In case you haven’t noticed, masks are no longer just a trend, but a beauty staple that’s here to stay. From clay to egg foam, there’s a wide selection of masks to address any skin type and concern. Here at Dermstore, we’re no strangers to the masking craze, so when we heard that Erno Laszlo launched a line of peel-off powder masks, we were intrigued.

The Benefits of Using a Peel-Off Mask

Inspired by ancient methods performed at Korean spas, the peel-off mask is another effective way to address your skin care needs. The benefit of using a peel-off mask is that it allows you to customize your experience and choose where to apply it—all over the face or just on the areas that need some extra love. Curious to see how this works? Follow along as we break down how to use Erno Laszlo’s Firmarine Lift Face Mask.

How This Peel-Off Mask Works

The instructions are quite simple and almost fail proof. After cleansing your skin, pour the two packets (one contains a liquid formula and the other a powder) into a bowl.

Mix with the spatula (included in the kit) until you notice a mousse-like consistency.

We recommend applying the mask immediately because this powder-to-mask formula solidifies and conforms to the shape of your face within minutes. As always, make sure to avoid the hairline and mouth area.

Keep the mask on for about 15 to 20 minutes. When it’s time to remove the mask, start from the forehead and gently (and slowly) peel the mask downward. The mask should come off easily since it’s now solidified, but if you notice any excess debris left over, try wiping it with warm water.

The Verdict

If you’re looking to restore firmness and elasticity in your skin, we recommend making some room in your beauty cabinet for Erno Laszlo’s Firmarine Lift Face Mask. The results are subtle, but our skin definitely felt softer and tighter after using this. Though a DIY mask might sound intimidating in the beginning, this product is very easy to use—the whole process takes about 20 to 25 minutes. We recommend mixing the formula really well to avoid any chunks in the consistency for a smoother application. The mask dries almost immediately so you won’t have to worry about it dripping or making a mess.

As a plus, this powder-to-mask formula includes peppermint oil, which gives it a refreshing minty scent that feels cool on your skin, lending a slight tingly feel. Although we’d love to use this on a weekly basis (as suggested by the brand), considering the slightly higher price point, we might reserve this for special events or days when we need to be selfie-ready.
