Q I have hyperpigmentation on my underarms, waist and groin/thigh areas, I decreased my sugar/carb intake and am no longer overweight. Although the hyperpigmentation seems to have faded somewhat, It is still there. I am planing on taking something with hydroquinone however i have heard a lot about Glutathione. Is there any merit to this? Could It help in addition to a hydroquinone treatment?
A

Gluatathione is simply an antioxidant that your body naturally produces, yet it is healthy and will be beneficial to to take, however to help gain the results you are looking for I am not so sure. Hydroquinone on the other hand will be helpful. Keep in mind that though that with a bleacher or lightener, such as hydroquinone, you need to be very strict with your sun protection. If you do not use a sunscreen in conjunction with hydroquinone then you can make the hyperpigmentation worse. Please feel free to contact me with further questions. Best skin care wishes.
