Oribe products are all wonderful although way too expensive. This product is nice though and does what it says. I would recommend

This product is not for everyone, but I will repurchase for my needs and like that the interior container is refillable to reduce waste. I like to apply this to the dry parts of my hair 5 min or more before washing (less then recommended) when it's feeling particularly brittle and crunchy from mid-shaft down. I'll consider using it every few weeks, and I apply ONLY to the driest parts. I often shampoo my roots twice and skip the ends but will see if the pre-shampoo needs more removal and adjust. The profile option doesn't offer much to capture hair type but I'd say I have oily scalp, wavy, aging dry hair. After shampoo - the overall moisture level of my hair root to tip feels more even. I have some damage from previous highlighting but don't use heat tools often and still get breakage. This product allows me to add oils to the driest parts of my hair only without being messy, drippy or smelling gross like other oils that can take several sessions to wash out. I see the point of the other review here about this product not fully washing out - but that's what I like about it, it's like a moisture mask treatment as well as protective pre-treatment. However, I would not think coconut oil a reasonable substitute unless you really enjoy smelling like a coconut and feeling greasy. This product has multiple ingredients designed to penetrate the hair shaft so I think it's more effective than a single ingredient product. This product also has a mild, pleasant and sophisticated scent similar to other products in the Oribe line. It might be nice to test a sample or if they had a trial size first. I hope Oribe reduces the packing size of their products like this jar and its pomades at some point since it's a bit bulky if you're short on space (though easy to use).

I used this about 6 times. you don't need much product. Hard to washout of my hair. My hair was not shiny at all. My hair felt dry still. You're better off putting plain coconut oil on your hair. Glad I can return it.
