The 2018 awards season is in full swing. Hollywood stars are gracing the red carpet in their gorgeous gowns, glowing skin and, you guessed it, impeccable hairstyles. And who else knows award season hair more than Harry Josh, hairstylist to the stars and creator of the prestigious professional hair tool line, Harry Josh® Pro Tools.

Together with Dermstore, Harry Josh hosted an intimate event at Palihouse in West Hollywood on January 5th,  kicking off awards season and celebrating the launch of the newest tool in the Harry Josh Pro Tools Family: The Ultra Light Pro Dryer.

Hair professionals, beauty bloggers and digital influencers gathered to discuss the latest hairstyles and trends, learn tips and tricks from Harry, and more importantly, test out the new Ultra Light Pro Dryer.  This new dryer, touted as faster, quieter and lighter than most hairdryers in the market, captured the awe of the guests.

Among those in attendance were celebrity hairstylists Scotty Cunha and John D, Bustle’s West Coast Beauty Editor Sara Tan, and digital influencers Nicolette Mason and Stephanie Liu of Honey & Silk (a long-time Harry Josh fan).

For years, red-carpet hairstyle has influenced hairstyle trends in the market.  Asked how this year’s award season hair would look, Harry said: “In the political climate of today, people are more focused on activism and empowerment, so people may be focusing less on glamorous styles.  I think hair will reference more of the 90s–simple, smooth, and more natural.” (Case in point: For Golden Globes, Harry created a simple yet sophisticated look for Best Actress in a Drama nominee, Caitriona Balfe.)

Here are some of our favorite moments from Harry Josh’s gifting suite:
