Q Hi there, I'm 21 years old, female. I'm kind of embarrassed to be asking this. But, For the past 2 months I've noticed the skin on the right foot, right on the ankle has become really really rough and hard and dry and cracked. My left ankle is fine. I'm not sure what this is, but sometimes it itches. ( rarely ).It is winter... not sure if that's why or not. It's also really pink around the dry/cracked skin. Is this something I should be worried about? I do however, sit Indian style everyday ( I work from home on the computer ) and my right ankle that has the rough skin is pressed against my chair all day. It does not hurt at all - just looks painful. I took a picture of it in hopes it can help you let me know if it is serious or not! Thank you very much, and I really appreciate you reading my question, and hope to receive an answer! I would go to a local dermatologist but unfortunately I do not have health insurance. Unfortunately a diagnosis cannot be made via the Internet. Based on the pictures it doesn't look like anything serious that should be seen by a dermatologist at this point. It could be due to sitting with it propped against your chair and the winter weather could also contribute to it. I suggest changing your positioning throughout the day and moisturizing the area on a daily basis. Best skin care wishes.
