Q My dermatologist recommended a glycolic cleanser to help with my acne. I've been using the Pixi glycolic cleanser and my acne has improved (this also may be due to being newly pregnant). I started using Good Genes every few evenings and I wondered if I should keep the Pixi cleanser to the mornings (is it too much to layer glycolic and lactic acid or even too much to use the glycolic cleanser in the morning after exfoliating with the lactic acid at night?), but I'm not sure about using the glycolic cleanser with vitamin c in the mornings. Should I just stop using the glycolic cleanser now that my acne has improved? I'm afraid of overdoing it with the acids, but also concerned about mixing glycolic acid a and vitamin c. Thank you!

Thank you for reaching out to us. In answer to your question, yes I would stop using your glycolic cleanser for now. I would recommend a nice gentle cleanser, such as the brand Eminence their Stone Crop Gel Wash , you can always use your glycolic cleanser when you seem to be having a break out but I wouldn`t follow with your Good Genes or Vitamin C just your moisturizer would be fine. I hope this helps, have a nice day! Cyndee, Dermstore Esthetician
