Q I am a 46 year old female with normal to dry skin (more on the dry side using retin a). One week ago I started using Renova Retin A (0.05%) every second night. I was on Retin A a year ago. I stopped using retin a after I finished my 20mg tube due to a very dry skin condition. I would like to know if applying 100% organic argan oil after cleansing in the morning followed by La Roche Posay SPF 15 moisturizer will slow down or interfere with retin a...The reason why I would like to use argan oil along with retin a is to hydrate the skin more so the skin looks more dewy and glowing skin instead of dry skin... Do you recommend using argan or any other oils with Retin A to eliminate the dry effect of retin a. Thank for your time and effort to answer my question.
A

Applying argan oil should not interfere or slow down the benefits of Retin-A or Renova. However, you should keep in mind that argan oil is said to be comedogenic, due to some of the elements that make up its chemistry. I would be cautious if you do use it. If you start to notice clogged pores and breakouts, it's likely due to the argan oil. You may want to consider incorporating a supplement of vitamin E along with the Retin-A to help with dehydration and dryness.
