Q Hi I suffer with acne and prior to becoming pregnant I had just finished having my nlite laser course and I was advised on a home care regime which involved Jan Marini bioglycic cleanser and JM bioclear cream by night and I use JM transformation cream by day. I am now 10 weeks pregnant and I did ask the skin clinic nurse if the creams I am using are safe and I was told that they were fine. I am now concerned about the bioclear cream because it contains salicylic acid, and I am worried it is unsafe that i was using it?? Thank you
A

I generally do not recommend salicylic acid, because it is absorbed so that it reaches the pores of the skin. Keep in mind though that there are mixed reviews on which ingredients are safe and which aren't. I only recommend not to use it because I would rather err on the side of caution then to not. I would say go with what your obstetrician says. Best skin care wishes.
