Dryness & Burning After Washing Face

Q Hi. I'm 17 years old, if that matters. My question is this: after washing my face with just regular soap, and I've used a bunch of different types, my face gets very dry and sometimes actually peels. Also after putting the soap on my face it actually starts to burn. It's actually a searing pain, and it continues after I take the soap off too. The only way I get relief from it is to splash very cold water on my face continually for a couple of minutes. I don't know what to do about this. To try and solve the dryness I tried a few moisturizers like Curicel (not sure of spelling?) and they just resulted in rashes. Any suggestions for these problems?
A

I recommend something extremely gentle for hypersensitive skin like La Roche-Posay Toleriane Gentle Dermo-Cleanser or Pharmaceutical Specialties Vanicream Cleansing Bar (4ea). To correct the dryness I recommend Aquanil HC Lotion or Stiefel Laboratories Sarna Lotion. Please contact me with any further questions. Best skin care wishes. Meagan, Esthetician
