Q Right now, I HAVE to use *large* amounts of the CeraVe moisturizing cream in the tub on my face because my skin is so dry, so sensitive, and so compromised. I also feel I need to include a facial oil ask the CeraVe cream has none. So then the question is oil before or after the CeraVe cream? Most of what I've read states that oil should be the last step because it is occlusive, but as I understand it, petrolatum is the most effective occlusive. Can oil penetrate through petrolatum to the skin, or should oil come before the super heavy, petrolatum laden cream? Thank you.
A

Thank you for reaching out to us. In answer to your question, the oil should go on first. I would recommend a product other then your oil that will help as far as exfoliating dead dry skin, in order for your other products to be absorbed . Such as the brand Credentials, theirGylcolic Face Cream this product is designed to help with your skin care concerns. I would recommend that you use this product at night and you can use it with your oil as well for additional hydration. TheirLiquid Gold would be a great serum to benefit your skin. I hope this helps, have a nice day !Cyndee Dermstore Esthetician
