- Q I use proactiv 3 set which Ithink is safe???But I am concerned if L'oreal renoviste glycolic peel kit is safe to usewhile being 14 weeks pregnant.It has peel ingredients,post-peel and rebalancing moisturizer ingredients.I have not asked my ob because it has so many ingredients I feel silly asking about 20 different ingredients.please help.

The L'Oreal website did not state the complete list of ingredients, therefore I cannot be sure and suggest you contact the manufacturer directly for more information. There are some physicians that will recommend you do not use glycolic acid during pregnancy, however it is generally recommended to be safe and I consider it a safe ingredient. But, asking your obstetrician about their opinion on glycolic acid would be the best thing to do. Again, I'm not sure about the Proactiv as DermStore does not sell this product and I am not certain of the ingredients. These are the ingredients I recommend avoiding during pregnancy. Salicylic acid, or BHA's, retinol, soy, some essential oils, hydroquinone and aloe vera. Best skin care wishes.
