Q Hi, I am trying to come up with a new skincare routine and I am a bit confused on the difference between oils and serums. Can you explain the difference and which ones I might need to add? My goals are to lighten dark spots on my face and get rid of some milia that I have on my cheeks. This is my current routine: Revision Brightening Cleanser Obagi Toner Obagi C-Clarifying (I am out and need a new recommendation) Moisturizer (Epionce Renewal) - I just switched to this from Skinceuticals daily moisturizer because a local derm store said it was too heavy and therefore causing milia. EltaMD sunscreen Twice a week I use skinmedica retinol. So what type of serum/oils do I need to incorporate? Do I need vitamin c? Any tips and advice would be greatly appreciated as I don't really know what to add from here ;) Thanks for your time.

Thank you for reaching out to us. In answer to your question between the difference in oils and serums, oils are a bit thicker in consistency then serums, serums are more light weight. I would recommend the brand Sunday Riley their C.E.O. Vitamin C Brightening Serum in place of your Obagi C . If you wanted to try an oil their C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil would benefit your skin as well. It appears that you have a good routine and I don`t think it would be necessary to add anything . I would recommend booking a facial periodically , especially because you have a tendency to get milia. And it's always nice to have a special treat for your face. I hope this helps, have a nice day !Cyndee
