- Q I am currently breastfeeding my two month old and plan on doing so for another 10 months. In the meantime my perioral dermatitis has gotten out of hand and I am unsure what prescription antibiotics or other treatments are safe while I am breastfeeding. I would sure appreciate the help as my face looks horrible at this point and time! Thanks again!

You'll have to speak with your physician to see what prescriptions will work for you while breast feeding. Azelaic acid is a non-prescription ingredient that will help to treat perioral dermatitis, and is safe for breast feeding mothers. Please contact me with further questions.
