Keratosis pilaris (also known as KP) is a common skin concern that is frequently mistaken for breakouts on the upper arms, upper legs and derriere (though it can appear anywhere). Sometimes referred to as chicken skin or gooseflesh, KP is caused when hair follicles are clogged by an excess of keratin, forming tiny hard plugs that give skin a stippled and rough (or slightly scaly) texture. Luckily, there aren't many other symptoms associated with KP, besides mild itching. Dermstore offers plenty of potent, skin care expert-backed treatments to manage and eradicate the majority of KP symptoms.
