LOVE
Haven’t had the best experiences with balms. They’re usually hard to apply and remove, and always break me out. I prefer straight up oil cleansers because they allow me to really work and massage the product in and usually rinse clean. This product combines the best of balms and oil cleansers. It’s on the thicker side but it melts into the skin well and allows me to give myself a nice massage, and rinses perfectly. It leaves my skin feeling supple and clean. It’s not the best around the eye area, but my eyes don’t like any product near them, or even water. It does leave me with blurry vision for a second after rinsing but that’s not a big issue to me.

This is a great cleansing balm, really gentle and no fragrance, convenient (and cute) packaging. Cleanses makeup very well. I like it but have other cleansing balsam I love more

Not great for sensitive skin
I thought the price of this cleanser was steep but was willing to try it. Overall it removed makeup and impurities well but it was very irritating on my eyes. When I would use to remove eye makeup it stung. I gave this 3 stars for this reason.

Love this cleanser
I love this cleanser. I rub it in and use a warm washcloth to remove. I'm able to use it in the morning prior to working out and don't even have to put on a moisturizer or serum afterward that I will just sweat off. I love it.

Great Cleanser
This cleanser is very good, especially for dry skin. Many oil and balm cleansers claim not to strip skin of natural oils but my face feels tight afterwards. This product leaves my face clean and moisturized but not congested.

I used to suffer with acne and after a lot of research, I added double cleansing into my routine to help. I use this as my first cleanse and it works great for me. I am very picky with ingredients being acne prone and there's nothing in here that has irritated my skin at all. No comedogenic oils, just good ingredients! I apply this to a wet face and then follow up with a water based cleanser. I do agree that it is pricey but I think the quality is definitely there and justifies it if you're looking for a natural balm. Also no fragrance is another plus for me since my skin is also sensitive to that!

Too Thick for Normal Skin
This product receives rave reviews for those with dry skin. On normal, however, it is too thick even as a first cleanse as it does not emulsify as well as other oil-based cleansers. For a similar price point, there are other luxury brands that deliver a better cleansing experience. I'm sure this is great for many people but it's not fantastic for my skin-type. Other products of holifrog have worked well for me. Just be aware everything might not work the same for everyone.

Hit then a Miss
I loved this balm at first and thought I had found a replacement to Drunk Elephant's cleansing balm. I wasn't thrilled at the amount of product for the price (as I double cleanse each night) but was willing to live with it for great results. And then the congested skin came. I hoped it was a fluke so I never threw it out and would go back to it every now and again to check. Sure enough - each time I used it again a few nights in a row like clockwork my forehead and jawline would go from clear to bleh. I will forever buy Holifrog's milky wash (its amazing) but this for me was a miss.

A great first cleanse!
First off, the packing that the Holifrog products come in are SO stinkin' cute it's insane! Second, this balm REALLY does the trick when it comes to taking off sweat, makeup, sunscreen, and any other grime from your day. The ONLY reason I give it 4 stars is because it does take awhile for me to get it all off my face. I've heard of people having this problem before, but I think it just takes practice working with it. I've gotten better at it, but I always follow this cleansing balm with a second cleanse, and it definitely comes off then. It just may take some getting used to if you decide to use this as your only cleanser. It truly is a great first cleanse though!
