I wouldn't recommend it

1

I usually use another Vitamin C serum, but this time I thought I needed to try something different. My friend suggest this product, but unfortunately after using it for 3 weeks, I cannot say that I'm satisfied with its results. Pros : It has a nice smell and not too expensive. Cons: It's wasn't very effective on brightening my skin, it is very concentrated and it didn't actually do much to the skin.

Pilling and Oxidizing

2

Unfortunately, this is not one of the best Vitamin C serums I’ve ever found. You have to put on just the right amount because having slightly too much on will cause excessive pilling. Anywhere the products begin pilling, severe oxidization starts as well. I’ve found myself looking very orange when I’m not careful with the amount I put on and anytime I try to fix it, the product begins to pill and has stained towels repeatedly. Overall, if used very carefully and in as little amounts as possible, it’s worth trying. Otherwise, it’s more hassle than help.

Not the best one on the market

1

This product is very sticky, bleeds and stains cloth, and is fragrance. Would opt for alternatives on the market.

Pills under sunscreen

1

Terrible pilling. Order of application of my products for the day was this serum, La roche posay toleriane moisturizer, and elta md tinted sunscreen. Noticed terrible small pilling all over face approx 2 hours after application. Going to try another sunscreen tomorrow and see if there is any difference. If not, will not be repurchasing. Sad because I’ve heard great reviews on this product.

Great afforable Vitamin C

4

I really liked this one, although all these companies love droppers and I feel like this one oxidized really quickly. Beyond those minor things, I like this Vitamin C and use it in place of the SkinCueticals one when I'm feeling more budget-concious.

Turned orange 2 hours after application

1

I've been using vitamin C for a while and decided to try this one but regretted it soon after the first application. As others mention, this serum has a strong smell. It isn't bad but if you are used to unscented products, this will feel like a lot. The other and main problem with this serum is that it doesn't get properly absorbed into the skin which causes it to oxidize after a few hours and dark orange spots appear on your face. I was lucky that I was at home when this happened but could imagine what it would have been like if I turned orange while at work.. I tried the product again and let it sit on my face for 1h+ before applying anything else on top (moisturizer, sunscreen) and got better results but still some orange spots. I definitely don't recommend this product.

Disappointed and Returned

2

Was excited to try this as I've heard good things about La Roche-Posay but this was the first thing I've returned to dermstore. Here's why: The dropper is a complete cylinder, so it's hard to get the product in the dropper. (can see the dropper shape in the product image). It pilled under my sunscreen (eltamd 46). It does leave an orange cast, and it would rub off on my mask and leave orange marks. I couldn't actually tell there was a tint on my face (my skintone is warmer anyway) so this didn't actually bother me. I could see it changing the tint of someone with cooler skin. I did see a "brightness" to my skin using this, but I didn't use it for a long time, so I wonder if the orange tint does the brightening. Overall, would not recommend it. There are a lot of great vitamin C products out there.

Very nice product

5

Just purchased my second bottle of this vitamin C and I'm very happy with it. Leaves my skin feeling hydrated and I feel it's improved my skin tone overall. Also, the scent is lovely and not overpowering at all!
