Pros and Cons
My long wavy/curly type 2C hair tangles easily and is highlighted so I was excited to buy this sulfate-free shampoo. I have used it 5 times so far. The positives are its light pleasant scent and safety for color-treated hair. However, for me the cons are overwhelming. First, this shampoo does not spread over my hair well, no matter how wet my hair is. I have to use a generous amount and start scrubbing immediately, or the shampoo will literally get absorbed by my hair, like the shampoo has disappeared into my hair. Seriously. Second, it is so hard to get it to lather, even though this shampoo is advertised as having a low lather. Third, my hair does not feel clean after using. I wash my hair every day and I never use this two days in a row because my hair looks greasy. Here are tips for using that I discovered to help me get through my bottle. One is apply it in a star method, like think of your scalp like a star and apply it in the front, underneath your hair, at the sides, etc,. and then start rubbing it in. Never wash and repeat because the second wash will make your hair feel and look like a Brillo pad. Three is do not count on the shampoo to detangle. Four is to scrunch the shampoo in your hair. That may help. I will not be repurchasing. Perhaps other hair types will have better luck?
