Good for sensitive skin
If you can't tolerate a prescription retinoid because it's too drying/irritating, this is a good option. All of Avene's products are great for highly sensitive skin. For me, this isn't quite strong enough to keep my pores clear, but it is non-irritating if you want to get something in the form of a retinoid on your skin.

great for smooth bright skin
I've been battling some cystic acne flare-ups and also felt it was time to get serious about skincare now that I'm in my thirties and do the most I can to prevent fine-lines and wrinkles and this was a great product for battling both acne and aging. It's quite expensive for not much product but I think that's just how it is if you can't go prescription. I've since been able to get a prescription retinoid and no longer use this but it was great to use before I got my prescription. I would add a word of warning that this product is QUITE strong and to not use around the eye area as you will have some VERY dry red skin around the eyelids if you do. In fact, I looked like I had a terrible eye infection for a week and a half. You have to really take care to not let any of the product even accidentally wander down to the eye area because a few times I thought I was being really careful to avoid that area and lo and behold the next day my eyes were crumpled and red and terrible looking.

Love this product! It has made my skin so smooth and has helped to decrease fine lines and breakouts. The only negative is when I where it at night it rubs off on my pillowcase leaving a yellow/orange spot ,but it easily comes out in the wash.

I was looking for something to help with acne and anti-aging - 28 yrs old with hormonal acne and sensitive, oily skin. I've been using this every other night before my moisturizer for almost 3 weeks now. I noticed some mild irritation at first - dry and itchy skin around my eyes - but that has subsided. The product is thick so I have found that spritzing some rosewater on my face before application makes it spread much easier and allows me to use less - 2 pumps on my face and 1 pump on my neck. There was a purge period for me where my face broke out but it has since cleared up. I still get the occasional pimple but they are less severe and don't last as long. I can already notice some old acne scars fading and my tone evening out. Thankfully, I don't have any bad wrinkles yet so I can't speak to that but my complexion does seem to be less dull. I will likely purchase this product again when I run out and am planning to increase usage to every night now that my skin has adjusted.
