This product has been good for controlling redness from rosacea. I use it once a day after getting out of the shower, and it seems to make a difference in facial redness throughout the day. I have found that using it more than once a day is too drying for me.

Winter rescue

This thermal water literally saved my face!
In May, 2011 I had a severe reaction to a chemical sunscreen. I went to my Family Dr, and then 2 different Dermatologists over the course of 2 years, with very little improvement. My skin was totally dehydrated, extremely rough, red, wrinkled and very sore. Finally, I tried several Avene sensitive skin products-an anti redness cleanser and Tolerance Extreme Cream. The Extreme Cream has mineral oil in it-one of only 5 ingredients, but NO preservatives and a unique patented sterile delivery system. I used the Anti-redness cleanser and removed it with the Avene Thermal Water. I could use no makeup or other treatment products. My skin began to improve. I truly thought the wrinkles would never go away, as I was 62 years old when I began this regimen. I had been told by yet another Dermatologist, now retired, to only take a shower once per week, and use very little soap as my skin is dry and itchy. I started noticing that every week when I washed my hair and showered, my facial skin, which by this time was MUCH improved, would get several dry red patches after each shower. I then realized that was the ONLY time I was using tap water on my face and neck. I now have to improvise in order to keep the water off of my face while showering, and the minute I get out, I spray my face with the Avene Thermal Water. I cannot believe the difference in my facial skin. It has worked amazingly well in reducing the redness, roughness and sensitivity of my skin. Plus, my skin is much, much softer than ever, and all of the new wrinkling, which I feared was permanent, has vanished. Of course, I AM now 63, and do have some light wrinkling and facial creases, but I had these before. If you have very sensitized, reactive skin, Try Avene. Not all the products are as gentle as those I use, so be sure and read the ingredient list on each product carefully before you buy. The deep thermal spring from which this water is obtained (and it is in many of their other products as well) has been used to treat skin problems since the 1700's! I can now use other gentle, limited ingredient products-those without parabens, pthalates, and other harsh chemicals. I have had especially good results with facial oils (my favorite now is the RMS Beauty Oil), but I know that the key to building back my skin's natural barrier was the Avene Thermal Water, and the Tolerance Extreme Cream which contains a high percentage of said water. I now realize there is water, and then there is HEALING water!
