Great at removing make-up, but scent is unpleasant
First of all, this does exactly what it's supposed to in terms of removing make up. Used this to remove heavy make-up and lash glue, and it all came off like a charm. I've gifted this product to several friends because it's so good at what it does! However, I don't love the smell. Additionally, since I have combination skin, I prefer not to use this every day as the oil component can feel overwhelming on my skin. Again, I highly recommend this for people who wear foundation daily, as it really gets everything off very smoothly.

My holy grail of cleansing oils
I have oily, sensitive skin and easily break out if my skin does not agree with a product. I can only use mineral sunscreens, as all others burn and break me out, and so I need a heavy-duty yet gentle cleansing oil to use before I use face wash. The DHC oil is my holy grail cleansing oil. It gently removes my tenacious mineral sunscreen, leaving my oily skin very sightly moisturized with no residue and ready for my gentle face wash on a kojac sponge. I have tried about 5 other popular cleansing oils and this is by far my favorite, though I do notice that I have tiny micro break-outs on my chin if I go several days just using this without following with a second cleanser. I know cleansing oils are meant to be a first step but I know that not everybody finishes with a cleanser. But I do have weird skin and it needs that manual exfoliation from the kojac sponge and face cleanser afterwards and so please do not let that be a deterrent if you are looking for a stellar cleansing oil with a very mild, herbal smell and lovely emulsifying properties. Did I mention that it is satisfying to wash my face with the DHC and watch the water turn a milky color? Some of us are easy to entertain!

Removes Stubborn Sunscreen
I wear a waterproof, long wear sunscreen daily and need a heavy duty oil to remove it at night. My trusted brand discontinued their cleansing oil so I began the hunt for a new one. With so many positive reviews, I thought I would give this one a chance. It is a heavy oil, with a greasy feel, but it emulsifies completely with a warm water rinse. I would not use this alone, absolutely follow up with a facial cleanser, and the combination of both this oil and my cleanser seems to work well. It completely removes my stubborn long wearing sunscreen so then I can clearly wash my face. One great big plus this product has going for it, beyond how well it works, is the attention to packaging. It arrived clean, without leaks in well thought out packaging. I appreciate that.

Unclogs pores
