Great Day or Night
I like the way that this moisturizer sinks in and does not lay on top of my skin. My skin looks great now, even in winter. Plus, I use it at night, because it does not have sunscreen. Lightweight but effective. I will reorder once this supply is out. This was recommended to me by a dermatologist.

Works ok, not as hydrating as I would have liked
My favorite part about this product is simply that I can use it without too many negative consequences: it's fragrance free, has a pleasant lotion texture, and has a financially sustainable price point for me while offering some beneficial ingredients beyond moisturizing - all things I look for in a staple moisturizer. It's a lot of trial and error for me to find a moisturizer that works without congesting or inflaming my problematic (sensitive, acne prone) skin. My working theory is that I am sensitive to caprylic triglycerides and fatty alcohols - all very common ingredients in 'oil free' moisturizers - but actually do well with thoughtfully chosen oils. The only thing that has worked well before is La Roche Posay's Toleriane Fluide - alas recently discontinued and replaced with a new formulation that doesn't work for me. After a lot of internet research I decided to try this Elta MD option for the winter AM and PM, with the intention of mixing a few drops of plain face oil as needed. For the AM this did not moisturize adequately under my Paula's Choice Resist Super-light SPF and the sunscreen settled unflatteringly into my creases. In the PM and with some face oil, this worked ok and is helpful when one lacks options. When working out, I get red easily and it somehow makes my face tight and uncomfortable. In all cases I do wish for a bit more humectant and occlusive content - to stay flake free in our relatively mild PNW winter, I have to layer another gel moisturizer under, and even then I wake up a little tight. I wouldn't use this for winter if I lived in a colder climate; however, I do think it has the potential to be a staple in the summer and my four-star rating reflects that.

I have been looking for a moisturizer that is emollient enough but not too greasy. I have been starting to use retinol and need the extra moisture. I love the feel of this lotion and works well under makeup. A friend recommended this to me and I would definitely recommend the product.

I love this product! It was a great moisturizer and it felt beautiful on my skin. Yet, the amount that comes in it only lasted me a month. Even if I adore this product I cant afford $34 monthly on a cream.

Very mild fragrance and great texture. I felt I have always taken good care of my skin until Melasma kicked in. So I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND EltaMD products as a part of anyone's skin care regime.
